Savage's is problem is that he comes across as a male Susan Estrich with his grating voice and whiney attitude. In person, however, he is a great guy. His radio show addresses the border problem more so than other radio hosts, but is rendered ineffective by his grating personality and the fact that he often comes across as a member of the straitjacket set in need of meds.

What's your point? Nobody starts a radio show to change the world for good. They do it to attract sponsors to the station.

There's nothing wrong about that; it's called having a job.

Maybe, but I admire the lone man who doesn't value making friends, but instead fights for beliefs and ideas. So he won't be invited to cocktail parties.. OH NO! Who doesn't want to socialize with Katie Couric?? He must be a crazy man!

Savage is a very charming guy who has a circle of freinds to hang out with in the Bay Area. Combine that and his personal wealth and he has nothing to lose.

I remember Hannity's concern at first about the Minutemen and how he was concerned about vigilantes--- Funny, same words from Bush.. He's since come around because he feels it's safe to be on the issue now...

Hannity doesn't seem to mind millions of illegals streaming across our borders as long as they only want to work here. He is just concerned that some terrorists might slip in with them. Savage has been on point on the borders issue since he started. I often don't agree with Savage and his rants are a bit much sometimes, but nobody else has been willing to take on the borders, language and culture issues like he does.

Uh, they are just radio and TV personalities. Not the Second Coming of Christ.

Between O'Reilly, Hannity, Savage, and Rush... I'll pick Rush everytime and twice on Sundays.

The problem with O'Reilly is that he comes off as trying to hard to be the cable version of what Rush is. And his belief in himself as the anointed defender of the public good boarders on the megalomaniacal.

Even that wouldn't be so bad if, like Rush he was both intelligent, cultured, articulate, and diplomatic. But he isn't.

As for Savage, he might be intelligent, and articulate, but he is most certainly NOT diplomatic. And, no matter how erudite his mind maybe, without any affability he cannot be called cultured. If all I wanted was to hear a guy scream over and over again things I already know, then Savage would be it. But he wont convince anyone who doesn't already agree with him, unlike Rush who has convinced libs I know.

And where as Hannity may be diplomatic and even intelligent, and cultured in a way; he just isn't very articulate.

I'll have to disagree.
Hannity is not smarter than Savage.
I never get bored listening to Savage. Hannity at times is like a tape recorder spewing out the same show day after day. I agree with the message, but it's not intellectually stimulating ( I don't mean that as a sleight).
You may not agree with Michael's viewpoint, but he's much more intelligent than Hannity. I like Hannity, but it's obvious he's basically a repeater of party line information.
He's not the brightest out there. this is especially obvious to me when he interviews cracked up libs like
Jenenane Barfalot on his show.

Savage is a very intelligent, very independent, and very different animal all together. His popularity is derived
from his penchant to say whatever he is thinking, and to say it with great passion. He intially comes off as a
small minded bigot, but I believe he uses this technique
to get attention. and it works.
He doesn't stay on message like Hannity. I tend to agree with less of what he says, but I totally agree with his
insights on several major conservative issues such as abortion, immigration, the Democratic/Communist party etc..
Say what you want about Savage and his flamethrower techniques, but he is the holder of several advanced degrees, writer of many books on biology of plants, and
much better spoken than Sean. Sean has incredible discipline, he does his homework and is more diplomatic.
Just not as interesting.

My humble opinion.
Snot.

"I am a Bush supporter but my allegiance ends with his border and immigration stance. If the Republicans aren't pro active and listen to the Savages "

I agree totally- but I never heard of that other guy hedgecock. I have many issues with Savage, his deprecation of his target's names is so juvenile, but he comes up with some of the most remarkable perceptions, that I do believe that he is obviously genious level, while very abrasive.

Amen!

A few weeks ago I saw Hannity and Boortz in Jax FL. After 20 or so minutes of kissing each other's butts they talked about issues. Neither one seemed to be wrapped too tight and, after 15 minutes of political discussion, they went back to the sphincter-smooching. Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz...

What a waste of time and money.

BTW, anyone who thinks Savage is "off-the-chain" crazy needs to stay up for the Art Bell/George Noory foil-hat hour!

Hannity "another Republican bootlicker who began as a Rush [Limbaugh] understudy" on his "Savage Nation" radio show. ...
"These two are now acting the way the mainstream media has been acting for decades, thinking they are the gatekeepers of who shall be heard in the conservative world," Savage sputtered in a statement.

Hannity is atrocious. He seems to think his job is provide a service to people to stupid to read GOP talking points for themselves.

At least O'Reilly is entertaining from time to time. But he's a first-rate jerk. O'Reilly reminds me of Bill Maher, in the way he pretends to be "independent." A couple of years ago, O'Reilly decided that "ideologue" is a slur, a convenient bogeyman to crusade against.

I hate when liberals cite Hannity (a total neocon) and O'Reilly (a total @$$hole) as examples of stupid and/or dishonest conservatives. Stupid, sure. Dishonest, yeah. But conservative? Gimme a break!

It's like listening to a gruesome train wreck, or a prolonged bloodletting and slaughter of a goat. Creepy, yet oddly compelling at the same time.

O'Reilly is a pompous, self-important, airheaded egotist with delusions of grandeur and relevance. And he's 1000 times better than Savage. A pox on them both.

Amen and amen!

Amen +1!

"You can diss o'reilly, but when you diss Hannity you're scumbag. I think savage is the scum of the earth. Hannity IQ = 140 Savage = 70. "

Is this why they call Mike Savage "Dr."? I have never heard anyone call Sean "Dr.". I must admit that I do love Hannity's show, and totally respect him for all that he accomplished in the 04 election, and really like him more than Dr. Savage. But Dr. Savage does have his moments of insight, and the largest cajones of all talkshow hosts.

Hannity, Savage, O'Reilly...you can keep them all. I know who I'd rather listen to...

Please let me know if you would like to be on the Laura Ingraham PING list.

My wife and I refer to the show as "Hannity and Freak"- haven't watched it in years, because of Freak.
