Pakistani killed for desecrating Koran
A man in a small village in western Pakistan was shot and killed after a local cleric declared him an infidel for desecrating the Koran.
Ashiq Nabi, who had been on the run since Monday after being accused of blasphemy, was shot Wednesday after begging for his life and then climbing a tree to escape an angry mob of about 400 villagers, the Pakistani newspaper Dawn reported.
Ashiq, who lived in a village about 18 miles outside Peshawar, allegedly had desecrated the Koran Monday during an argument with his wife. After his uncle complained, police began searching for Ashiq on charges of blasphemy. Under Pakistani law, those convicted of blasphemy face a mandatory death penalty.
Before the police could find Ashiq, he was tracked down by a mob incited by a local cleric, who had issued an edict declaring him an infidel and announcing death as punishment, the police said. The police said they will arrest the priest, when he is identified, as well as the others responsible for Ashiq's death.
Human rights activists criticize the blasphemy law and say it has been used to settle personal scores and to target minorities, the BBC reported.

This business of Moslems treating a printed copy of a Koran like it's some sort of sacred object is remarkably similar to the way the Hippocrites at Mecca treated the wooden idols at the Kaaba.
Mohammad had them killed in the end.

Sounds like the old lady set him up. He may have been mistreating her and the uncle helped her out?
I'm surprised this guy didn't blow himself up in the group of 400 muslims.

I would do it, but I'm afraid I would soil my posterior if it came into contact with the mohammedans 'holy' book.
There is just some rubbish one should not come into physical contact with.

Another story about Peaceful Islam. What a farce to say the words "peace" and "Islam" in the same sentence.
