This one deserved far more than a good scare. Watch the video.
yeah , you are on target , however , please watch AND listen to both videos , there is more here than is evident at first glance
You are correct. The replies at the first of this thread are reactionary at best. Which is what we have accused the uninformed left of consistantly. And one of the reasons this forum was established in the first place.
So what would you have done? For 30 minutes the teachers tried to get her to stop. They said they were not allowed to physically stop the child. She continued to tear up the room and hit the teacher in spite of continued warnings to stop. The Mom was called and said that she could not come and pick her up for another hour or two. So then what's left? What would you have done instead right then and there to get the child to cease her destructive behavior?
I retired early when it wasn't fun anymore and I didn't feel like I was making a diference in children's lives.
It has been five years now and I have never regretted it.
Is it coincidental that it all started happening about 1992???
They should have called someone in from special education or from the district's special services department who is better prepared to handle situations like this...
This is not the job of the police...
But the touchy-feelies have taken over education, and they HATE any kind of discipline that doesn't involve Ritalin and "time out".
Police Departments are out of control all across this Country - We are becoming a police state more each day -
Hell here in NC these hill people put up with routine weekly police check points!! - Middle of the day police check points! - As these wantabe Special forces police officers ask each American "can I see ur papers pleazzz".
Sad where this Country is going on the "micro" sense. We are heading in the right direction in a "macro" sense under GWB (during his 8 years on the whole) - But in the micro sense I sometimes think we are getting worse and worse each day -
Yeah they should have just brought in a riot control
dog and I bet that kid would have straightend right up
and like now..
I liked the Taser idea. Think Phaser on "Stun", THEN cuff her.
"They should have called someone in from special education or from the district's special services department...This is not the job of the police..."
Not of some gubmint bureaucrat either. It's the job of the PARENTS. The principal ought to sue them for the kid's destruction.
At that point the police were just there for damage control. And to give the poor girl, and her folk(s), a glimpse of her future....
ditto
While I agree with that last statement, I also think something is seriously wrong when teachers and principals can't handle a five year old girl without calling the police.
That said, it did once take us 3 adults to hold down my then 6 year old for an antibiotic shot. The difference being that she had a been a gymnast for 3 years or so, so was really wiry, and we had to not just restrain her, but hold her very still. I could easily, well fairly easily, restrain her, but not keep her from moving altogether.
There's the problem right there. The kid knew the teachers couldn't touch her, so why not continue on with her tantrum.
They should have called in the crocodile hunter. He would have goat roped her and made money to boot.
It could be a tumor.
I agree with you. I just saw the video. The little girl was out of control. The adults were trying to fend her off. I guess they were just supposed to let her continue to go wild. Then when she got hurt or hurt another child, the school would have still been sued. Instead of hiring a lawyer, the mother should be giving her daughter a good whipping and/or seeking out professional help. Betcha there is no dad around. Mother is probably out of control too and so the cycle continues.
It is Florida afterall. After Steve Irwin roped her, he could have dangled her in front of an alligator until she promised to shape up.
Yep. I agree. And as soon as they put cuffs on her, she wailed knowing that the game was over. Back in my day, a quick paddling would have stopped the incident in the first 5 minutes. And back then her Mom would have approved of it, possibly even giving her additional punishment at home, rather than calling her lawyer.
