A Democratic fund-raiser involved in Senator Clinton's 2000 campaign has offered a guilty plea to bank fraud charges and is likely to become a government witness at the upcoming federal trial of a top finance aide to Mrs. Clinton, David Rosen, court records obtained by The New York Sun show.
As part of an FBI investigation into alleged campaign finance reporting violations by Mrs. Clinton's campaign, the mystery witness secretly taped a conversation with Mr. Rosen in September 2002 and apparently tried to elicit statements from the former Clinton staffer about financial irregularities involving an August 2000 Hollywood fund-raising event.
Allegedly inaccurate reports about that event filed with the Federal Election Commission led to Mr. Rosen's indictment on four counts of causing false statements to be made to federal authorities. One count was dropped by a judge last month, but Mr. Rosen is scheduled to go to trial on the remaining charges at Los Angeles on May 3.

"I'm not totally disagreeing with you, but the times we live in people wouldn't stand two seconds for ramrod style, but they'd vote your aggressive ass complete out"
It has always been the Repubs contention that we try not to act like the friggin DemonRats. We try hard to be better than that. It also seems that it comes around and bites us in the a$$ when we do. I think Gingrich would agree. I have heard him say lately though that we sure as hell need to close ranks a hell of a lot better than we are currently. You would think we could at least brow beat some of these Benedict Arnolds.
While it would be greatly appreciated by most Republican Voters to at least see our elected officials stand up to some of the bald faced lies these pukes are spewing, I am afraid they are all gun shy given past experience. The MSM rakes the
Pubbies over the coals every time they so much as fart.
There is also the estimation that as much as 40% of American Voters could be independents. That figure seems mighty high to me, but Kerry definitely did better than I had expected. That is the problem with career politicians, they are afraid to offend any potential voter. It is the only thing that can explain their failure to address our immigration problems.

I think I know exactly who the person in question is: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1335061/posts A few notable facts: 1) The person is from a prominent family. Well: Reggie is a native of Crowley, an Acadiana hamlet that has produced an improbable number of Louisiana's best-known political figures, among them former Gov. Edwin Edwards, former U.S. Sen. John Breaux, former U.S. Rep. Chris John and New Orleans lawyer William Broadhurst. Reggie has lived in New Orleans for years. His father, Edmund Reggie, is a former Crowley city judge, a close pal of Edwards and a friend of the Massachusetts-based Kennedys going back to the 1950s. In 1992, Ray Reggie's sister Victoria married U.S. Sen. Ted Kennedy, cementing the already close bonds between the two families. 2) The person worked on Hillary Clinton's campaign in 2000: As a political consultant, Ray Reggie has worked on the campaigns of several well-known Democrats, among them Clinton and U.S. Sen. Hillary Clinton, as well as the presidential campaign of former Vice President Al Gore. Locally, he worked on the mayoral campaigns of Morial and former New Orleans Police Superintendent Richard Pennington. 3) The person was charged with bank fraud: Ray Reggie, a businessman and Democratic operative with close ties to prominent politicians ranging from former President Clinton and U.S. Sen. Ted Kennedy to former New Orleans Mayor Marc Morial, was charged by federal prosecutors Wednesday with attempting to defraud three banks of millions of dollars. 4) The person has reached a plea agreement: Legal observers say it's significant that prosecutors decided to file bills of information in this case. That's because felony charges can be prosecuted in federal court by a bill of information only if a defendant waives his constitutional right to a grand jury indictment. "Generally speaking, the government only files a bill of information on a felony charge if they've already reached a plea agreement with a defendant," former federal prosecutor Shaun Clarke said. "There are times when the person may be cooperating in other matters," Clarke said of someone charged in a bill of information. "It may also simply mean he wants to resolve the case. "If you think the government can prove its case against you, you're better off pleading guilty, irrespective of whether you're cooperating with any other investigation."

With the exception of Delay (whose under so much pressure, and probably for that very reason) I cannot single out ONE other R who is apt of make an issue out of this, can you? We certainly will not get any help--or pressure--from the White House
In fact, I will go so far as to predict, that if GW can possibly squelch this entire matter, he WILL!!

The Clintulas are a team. The fact she never got her marriage annulled means she is married to Chinagate, the Ron Brown Coverup, the Vince Foster coverup, the Jerry Parks mystery, Pardoning a crack dealer for cash to her brother, pardoning FALN terrorists for votes, etc. You got that right. This criminal enterprise just goes on and on. I believe we will never see them get their due in this lifetime. We may actually see her rewarded with the WH.

No I dont intend to go over to the Dems I intend to elect Republicans with some balls. We have already wasted 5 years of Bush's term playiong pitty pat with Dems and you seem to think we should sit on our ass and let the rest of his term go. Maybe its you who should go over to the Dems since you seem to like what they are getting away with.

Yes. I can think of one R would use this issue--Rep. Steve King. This guy is not stupid and I'll trust his judgment but he's a congressman, not a senator so don't know how effective he could be.
Perhaps post no. 31 has the answer. I've always wondered why the Clintons have been given a Get-out-of-jail-free card by Bush. It's a stupid bargain, if true. Bush is certainly having to fight to get his agenda.

Yup. Now will his airplane crash-land on a clear, sunny, windless day? Or will he stop to pick daisies in the middle of a railroad crossing and fail to hear the whistle?
Or will he inexplicably drive his car off a cliff at high-speed, "forgetting" to have used the brakes? Take a jaunt to Eastern Europe and die in a plane crash with a .45" hole in the top of his head?
