Why They Ran (Peggy Noonan On Pope Benedict XVI Speaking To The "Inner Adult" In All Of Us Alert)

Why They Ran

What to do to help? See his enemies for what they are, and see him for what he is. Read him--he is a writer, a natural communicator of and thinker upon challenging ideas. Listen to him. Consult your internal compass as you listen, and see if it isn't pointing true north.

Look at what he said at the beginning of the papal conclave: It is our special responsibility at this time to be mature, to believe as adults believe. "Being an 'adult' means having a faith which does not follow the waves of today's fashions or the latest novelties." Being an adult is loving what is true and standing with it.

This isn't radical, or archconservative. And the speaker isn't an enforcer, a cop or a rottweiler. He's a Catholic. Which one would think is a good thing to have as leader of the Catholic Church

There is a difference between the role of the President and the role of the Pope.

Really? So that means that the pope can talk about God and truth all he wants and not invoke the wrath of Noonan. But if GWB invokes God and truth too much, in Noonan's eyes, he is over the top and engaged in too much God talk.

Yep, really.

Blessed Benedict is in the God business.

Mr. Bush is in the politics business. Some would say in the Perpetual War Division.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought the selection of the Holy Father was all about what God wants, not what the world wants. Maybe the world should get a clue that God is trying to tell them something with the selection of this man. If the Church really believes that the Holy Spirit is active in the choosing of the Pope, then the members should pay attention to what the Holy Spirit is trying to tell them with his selection. If Catholics have a problem with the Pope, they can always leave and become Episcopalians, who are definitely "blown about by every wind of doctrine!" (I say this as a disheartened Episcopalian...)

And vice versa! ;o)

I hope you'll pray on it.

I have some ideas, but I'd rather share some of my favorite time saving anagrams:

IQTMPOA

AMSSAWBYLHITC

TRIGABBIATGTTHBTIQMA

You know what those are, right?

...tired of all these people of other denominations and faiths lamenting this choice of Pope. If your not Catholic, MYODB!

But, I DON'T hear a lot of people from other faiths -- atleast not the leadersof other faiths -- lamenting this choice. Daily I hear Jews, Muslims, Protestants praising this man and saying that they are looking forward to his reign with great hope.

What I DO hear, occasionally, isdisaffected Catholics (who haven't darkened a church door in years, most likely) grumbling about this choice and putting death wishes on him. The MSM goes to great lengths to round up the grumblers and to put a microphone, or interviewer, in front of their faces.

Trust me. The vast majority of Catholics welcome Benedict XVI and rejoiced in his election.

Those who are pursuing John Paul II's canonization, please note: his first miracle is Benedict XVI.

Brings tears to my eyes!

If I added my ideas as to the meaning of the anagrams, I may get booted off the forum. So, I will keep my sick sense of humor to myself.

I have been thinking about that scene in St.Peter's square, and why I found it so compelling.

I believe it harkened back to an earlier time, when news came from someone calling out in the town square. If not for the clothing, it had almost a medieval tone...people running to see who had been chosen, waving flages, praying, laughing, weeping.

And then the appearance of Pope Benedict, with his beautiful smile and humble statement. The Light of the Holy Spirit was evident in his face, and he indeed looked transformed, as someone posted the other day.

I am grateful I got to see it.

Meanwhile, the MSM is treating the Pope like they are treating Tom DeLay. They act like if they criticize him and hurl enough accusations, he will resign. Bah! They are only revealing themselves as anti-Christians.

Well, it's been plenty of time now, guess they were too obvious, but just in case:

IQTMPOA

I've Quietly Taken My Pants Off Again

AMSSAWBYLHITC

Always Make Sure She's A Woman Before You let Her In The Car

TRIGABBIATGTTHBTIQMA

This Rash Isn't Getting Any Better But I'm Afraid To Go To The Hospital Because They'll Involuntarily Quarantine Me Again

Just a big time saver for all my FRiends.
