Troll Threads (Vanity)
Me
Posted on 04/19/2005 5:26:07 PM PDT by Bombardier
I have a minor question: Can we keep the troll threads open a little while longer than usual? Sometimes it can be fun to hone rhetorical skills (as well as to post "Zot" pictures) on those threads. Just an idea....what do the rest of you think? Is it fun to flame trolls, or should we just be mature and only comment on that which is relevant and intelligent?

when is (respectfully of course) the standard probationary period over? The third Sunday of the second leap year after you register. Then you can jump on any newbie, anytime without fear.

Most of the time Trolls just do a flaming 'hit and run' statement, and either post a hostile thread or reply and don't stick around to defend or discuss their thoughts(easy to do when you have none). Even if such an allowance were made chances are they wouldn't take advantage of it, because even now they seem to be allowed to stick around and defend themselves before 'checkout', and they don't do it.

ouchThat thing's got a blast radius. Use with caution, and if possible, warn friendlie in the zone to duck and cover.

Too bad people don't post real troll graphics.
A troll has two or more heads and a tail.
Most people think a troll is one one these cute fake trolls from the east.

How do you tell the mods to let the VK play with the troll before a zotting? Use of the "Abuse" button. When a Troll posts an obvious ZOT thread, hit abuse and ask them that. "Can the Viking Kitties play with this one?" Sorta like that. :)
It also depends on which mod is around. Some are more playful than others and don't need to be asked.

I should think it also helps to ask nicely and say "Please".

Call your Congresscritter and see if we can enact laws preventing troll threads from being taken down too early.
Geesh.
