American President George W. Bush Tuesday night demanded that Syria not only withdraw from Lebanon but also shut down Hezbollah terrorist operations.
Hezbollah "is a dangerous organization," the President said on a Lebanese broadcast. "Syria has got to do its part about making sure that Hezbollah doesn't receive support from Syria," Bush added.
Hezbollah has been increasing its strength the past several years, and its attacks on Israeli soldiers succeeded in forcing former Prime Minister Ehud Barak to suddenly withdrew IDF troops from the southern Lebanon "security zone" that helped protect the Galilee.
Since the withdrawal, many of the Hezbollah tactics and weapons have found their way across the Syrian-controlled Lebanese border into Israel, particularly in the Jenin, Tulkarm and Shechem areas of Samaria. Both Israel and the United States have accused Syria of financing and encouraging the Hezbollah terrorists.
The American government blames the terrorist group for several attacks on U.S. soldiers, including bombings on the American embassy in Beirut and on Marine barracks.
Hezbollah also was behind the attack on the Israeli embassy and Jewish cultural center in two separate bombings in Argentina several years ago.
AMEN!
Semper Fi,
Kelly
Thanks for the ping.
Yes! It's about time. But, I really doubt much will be done. I doubt Syria's gonna listen any.
But, it's good to hear President Bush speak out.
Thank goodness...Bush needs to keep up the pressure on these terror groups.
LMAO... strategery, indeed. It appears that appeasement works in both directions.
I've been waiting for this. Excellent!!

NO KIDDING DUBYA
Hizballah is the father of all terrorist groups and now their time has come.
American President George W. Bush Tuesday night VAPORIZED THREE SMALL SYRIAN BORDER TOWNS AND T H E N....demanded that Syria not only withdraw from Lebanon but also shut down Hezbollah terrorist operations
This works better
Peace in the Middle East runs straight from Teran (installed by France in 1979) to Hezbollah - defeating this regime in Terran and destroying its proxy forces under the banner of the Party of God is the only way forward. Syria surely must know their days are numbered and Iran's clerics will be the next Taliban on the Run.

He confirmed to the newspaper that a meeting was held last June between Al-Zarqawi and a Lebanese fugitive, Emad Mughania, at one of Al-Quds corps centers in Kermanshah providence in western Iran. The source said Mughania played an influential role in forming the Al-Mahdi Army. Al-Mahdi Army belongs to the strict Shia religious cleric, Muqtada Al-Sadr, and trains its members in camps inside Iran. He also mentioned the entrance of Shia fighters from Lebanon to Iraq dressed as religious studies students. These fighters then join Al-Madi Army under the supervision of Emad Mughania. Mughania underwent a cosmetic surgery recently in a sanitarium for the revolutionary guards in northern Iran to change his face. This is the 5th surgery for Mughania, who's been chased by Western and Arabic intelligence organizations for a number of years now. The source said Mughania kept his relationships with Aymen Al-Thawahiri, the number-two man in Al-Qaida organization despite the difficulty of contacting him lately. He added that Mughania submitted a report early this year to chief of the revolutionary guards intelligence after a visit to Iraq. The report outlined the importance of expanding a framework of collaboration between Al-Mahdi Army and Al-Zarqawi's group. Muqtada has lost his standing among the Iraqi shia, especially Al-Najaf, while gaining more supporters in the Sunni triangle.")

Only problem is that the Hizbullah is an Iranian operation. Are there any sentient beings in the State Department?
Indeed, Iran is the mother base of Hizbollah.
Not only Hizbollah, Iran is basically like the Commintern of the Soviets- like the Soviets sponsored all possible communist organizations around the world back then, today Iran has the "Jihaditern"- it sponsors every possible terrorist organization in the world- muslim and non muslim.
The sponsoring is via terrorost trainings camps, money, weapons delivery by the Iranian government and more goodies. Iran is probably training Al-Qaida terrorists as well.
Those are not estimations but facts.
Syria is basically the only ally Iran has today and Syria is becoming weaker, so it also harms Iran, however as you both said, the problem should be treated from the root- Iran.
Finally, already! So....Mr. President, what took you so long?
Great News!!!
