KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- A rabbi wearing a yarmulke and a man wearing swastikas got into a fight at Kansas City International Airport Sunday evening.
According to a police report, Rabbi David Fine, 36, of Overland Park, was in the KCI terminal when he commented to Steven T. Boswell, 30, of Olathe, about a large swastika logo on his shirt and his swastika necklace.
Fine told Boswell that he should be ashamed of himself, and Boswell responded by calling the rabbi inhuman, the police report stated.
The rabbi allegedly threw a cup of coffee in Boswell's face and punched him. Boswell told police he then repeatedly punched Fine in the head.
Both men were handcuffed and charged with disorderly conduct. They refused medical attention.
The responding officer said Fine had some small bumps on his head and Boswell had coffee stains on his clothing.
Both men are scheduled to appear in court on June 22.
Really it's much smarter just to let these swastika-adorned idiots parade around displaying their idiocy unhindered. No doubt this loser is now a hero in the eyes of other loser-wannabe-Nazis, having been assaulted by an "inhuman" rabbi while parading around minding his own idiotic business.
You never met Rabbi Gittleson, USMC during WWII.
Every Marine who knew him would follow him to hell and back.
And you should be banned for being a moron who thinks there is any justification for violently attacking someone for wearing an offensive shirt...
I hate to say it, but what someone else is wearing is no one else's business when the wearer is minding his own business. The Rabbi was wrong to pick a fight with the skinhead in an airport. It'd be different if the skinhead was outside a synagogue looking for trouble and then finding it but it sounds like the kid just wanted to get somewhere.
I've been traveling and had a-holes give me a hard time over my NRA lapel pin, my various GOP pins & ties, and etc.
I'd prefer to be left alone. But if someone really wants their ass handed to them I'm always happy to oblige.
What this Rabbi has now done is pick a fight with a guy who was (at least for the moment) minding his own business and expressing himself as he sees fit. Now the skinhead gets to go back and rile up his friends with a true tale of how one a-hole gave him a hard time.
Except to the skinheads this will be certain proof that ALL Jews are a-holes when, in fact, it is just certain that this one idiot is an idiot who started a fight needlessly.
I personally do not care if someone wears a swastika, flies a Confederate flag, or whatever the hell else they want to do so long as they don't pester anyone else about it. It is still a free country, last I checked, and unpopular opinions (such as those typically posted on this site every day) are to be allowed to those people who hold them.
Or just be truthful about it all and tear up the Constitution and open the concentration....err, "re-education" camps.
Of course, we'll be the first people in those camps.
What did you say? Speak up, Frog. I can't hear you.
That wasn't the only reason he was attacked you know.
"The rabbi is in the wrong. Think about this next time you are wearing your Ronald Reagan or NRA shirt..."
Wow - I thought I was the only one who thought this too.
I'd add "Confederate Flag shirt" to your list as well.
I personally think all Nazis should die. But in America, they are unfortunately within their 1st Amendment rights to wear a dumbass swastika.
The skinhead did more than "just" wear a swastika.
I think most people missed that part, unfortunately.
"What about Boswell's First Amendment rights?
Or do you believe hate speech is unprotected? "

Of course there is no law against being an jackass by wearing a swastika. But if you do, be prepared to get jacked; we aren't going to quietly line up for the showers anymore.
It is in Texas.
I'm always in favor of smoking out the Nazi sympathizers. It helps keep FreeRepublic free and unassociated with the filth.
"The rabbi is in the wrong. Think about this next time you are wearing your Ronald Reagan or NRA shirt..."
I agree.
That's a revolting comparison.
Your analogy that NRA = Nazi is ridiculous. You are basically trying to argue that it is OK to yell FIRE in a crowded theater.
Even though the Nazi deserved the beating, by law, the Rabbi was at fault for being the first to get physical. UNLESS it can be proven that the Nazi did indeed get in his face first. I think a Jew being harassed by a neo-Nazi could be construed as sufficiently threatening to warrant a physical reaction.
I only wish the Rabbi had gotten more good hits in for his trouble.:/

Not "inhuman", but "unhuman". If the quote in the article is correct, it's an important distinction with regard to the Nazi belief system.
A swastika is nothing but a "partisan symbol" to you? Holy Mackerel.
"and all that gay stuff"
Outing yourself?

"After Cody and Kneil were decided, the Court of Appeals faced another twist of the guilty plea argument in State v. Boswell, 30 Kan. App. 2d 9, 37 P.3d 40 (2001), and State v. Johnson, 30 Kan. App. 2d ___, 55 P.3d 927 (2002).
In Boswell, the defendant was charged with two drug crimes. Boswell agreed to plead guilty to both crimes in exchange for the State's agreement to join him in recommending a downward dispositional departure (probation) and an underlying upward durational departure prison sentence. The trial court imposed the recommended sentence. Boswell appealed the upward durational departure portion of his sentence. 30 Kan. App. 2d at 11. The Court of Appeals recognized that Gould held the scheme for imposing upward departure sentences unconstitutional on its face and reasoned:
"Generally, this court does not have jurisdiction to consider sentencing appeals when the sentence is the result of an agreement between the State and the defendant and the sentencing court approves the sentence on the record. K.S.A. 21-4721(c)(2); State v. Starks, 20 Kan. App. 2d 179, 183, 885 P.2d 387 (1994). However, where K.S.A. 21-4721(c) applies, we may consider a claim that the sentence is illegal. State v. Ware, 262 Kan. 180, Syl. ¶ 2, 938 P.2d 197 (1997). The sentence is illegal because the basis for it has been declared unconstitutional by the Supreme Court; thus, there is no statutory authority to impose the sentence.
"Boswell's sentence was illegal and must be vacated." 30 Kan. App. 2d at 11."
