I think that Newt is an incredible "behind-the-scenes" guy, he is an incredible organizer and a master strategist -- but I just don't think he is the right person to be the GOP nominee for president.

I like the idea.

People have to remember, that in 1994, after 40 years (!) of Dem control of the House, he was able to go to the American people successfully, and getting enough Republicans elected to become a Majority in the House.

If he could do it then, maybe he could get the American people energized to vote for him for President.

I think he would make a good president.

Gingrich gets kuddos for '94, but in a race against the witch, he loses Ohio, Iowa, Nevada, Florida and New Mexico. This leaves Newt at 222 electoral votes, if he can hold on to West Virginia, Virginia and Arkansas. In other words, a potential witch blow out.

I'd certainly vote for him...but, as a strict-constructionist, I've long since given up hope that I'm anywhere near representing a majority of this nation's thinking.

He's a lightning rod........that's his problem. He's dead on with the issues though.....I'd vote for him.

He can run, but he will never get elected.

He's damaged goods, politically. He forgets that he was rather forced to resign from the House.

I have been a Newt for president man since 1994--if he runs, and I assume that he will, I will raise money for his effort.

Will the 2008 presidential race be a contest between Hillary Clinton and Newt Gingrich?

Speculation is spreading this weekend as the former speaker of the House is reported to be "plotting an eye-catching comeback," according to London's Sunday Times.

Speculation is spreading and WND is helping smear it around....

Neither Hillary or Newtie will be the nominees for 08, imo.

Well .. Newt's not going to get very far by dissing Tom DeLay. The dems are eating it up.

I don't like Newt for President; his impetuous nature would be a detriment.

However, it might be good for him to run. The issues he would bring to the table and his style would energize the race and platform.

Newt! If you've got your ears on, please listen to this.

When you broke your Marriage vows twice, at least, you made it impossible for me to believe you would honor a Presidential Oath. You have explaining to do to me and others, and you don't have much time.

Integrity MATTERS!! Once belief in integrity is gone, it seldom comes back.

For whatever you might make of my opinion, I URGE YOU NOT TO RUN.

When was the last time you saw a former House Speaker get elected President? I like the guy but he is not Presidential material.

When Newt was getting the same treatment Tom DeLay is currently getting, he cut and run.

Enough said.

Conversely, if Mr. DeLay stands up to the Demo(n)cRAT lies and cuts them a new one, he becomes the logical successor to Dubya.

That would be the Demo(n)cRATS worst nightmare, and they would have brought it upon themselves.
