There's been a low pressure S.E. of Hatteras for a couple of days now. Things should be calming down on the US coastlines by today/tomorrow.

Why are our oceans acting so weird lately?

North Carolina was having a weird wave pattern off the coast the past two days.  The Weather Channel had a weather gal standing on a pier overlooking the ocean at Nag's Head, and the ocean was really high and churning. (Yesterday).

It was supposed to get really high winds.  I didn't stay with the Weather Channel so I don't know what happened the rest of the day.  But now this article this morning.

I just don't know why our oceans are acting up so weird anymore.

There's nothing remotely weird about high seas off Cape Hatteras.

So where did the 70 foot wave go? Did it hit shore somewhere?

The low pressure caused all that.

The ocean is not misbehaving at all. These very large waves are a normal part of the process.

You might want to look up soliton as a start.

True enough there aren't very many of them, of course, but their existence has finally been acknowledged. Here's an article: "Rogue Waves The physics of pure hell at sea By Bruce Stutz DISCOVER Vol. 25 No. 07 | July 2004 | Astronomy & Physics. Here's the URL for that one: http://www.discover.com/issues/jul-04/features/rogue-waves/

After reading this article try imagining the size of the soliton created when the catch basin around the Antarctic Ice Cap began breaking up 14,000 years ago. Think about how it would scour the continental shelf of everything to the North!

There's nothing "lately" about it. Nature was happening millions of years before there were people to notice it.
Now we have instant world wide communications so events that few
would have heard about 50 years ago become Internet chat subjects very quickly.

I was watching the Discovery Channel last week. I bet these are earths warning signs that the Yellowstone super volcano is about to erupt.
Or or or or That a giant massive asteroid the size of Texas (or Hillarys butt) is on a collision course with earth, and that our government isn't telling us, but has key scientists, politicians and rich people locked in Cheyenne Mountain. But the huge asteroid is affecting our gravity and wreaking havoc on our tidal forces.

I do know one thing for sure though.......

ITS ALL BUSHES FAULT

PS: This is SERIES and HUGH
