"We know nothing really about her, but by God, Condi is our gal!" --- Anonymous Freeper
I've repeatedly asked here at FR for anyone to tell me *CONDI'S* stand on a number of issues ranging from economics to school prayer.
I have yet to receive one reply to my queries on where Miss Rice stands on a number of issues.
So can someone please tell me, especially you, Section 9, why I should be excited about a possible Condi Rice presidency run?
FYI: Miss R. in my opinion will prove to be an excellent Sec of State. But POTUS? Sorry, unlike a lot of Freepers my vote requires more than a cute smile or even worse, a fanatical appreciation of the Condi stare.
No wonder so many here can't seem to get behind Tom DeLay.
Hi...welcome to FR!
Those are the positions of President Bush as well.
Her views on abortion mirror almost exactly those of President Bush. And he certainly got elected.
so was Chelsea Clinton
Maybe she got her brains from her father Webb?
I'm being nice.
Major research project. Thanks
Yes! What you said.
How outrageous. She sounds like some kind of conservative.
"If Shrillary runs, we don't have to run a woman to beat her "
Agreed. If Hillary runs, it would be best to put up a strong male candidate who is a leader.
...... and her rigid hairstyle looks like 'The Liberty Bell' with no cracks.
The darling girl should be Prez, but........
I'm missing your link and logic? What does your questions about Condi have to do with Delay?
Are you saying no one knows where these two are on the issues?
Getting the federal government out of the abortion debate and returning the question to the states (which is what overturning Roe v. Wade would do) is also the position Bush has taken.
I gather you are against Congress issuing laws against partial birth abortion.
Politicians always want to have it both ways and try to avoid taking stances on controversial issues. They issue delphic statements, which can be taken many different ways depending on one's personal views. Kerry did it with his being personally against abortion but did not want to impose his views on everyone. Hillary has also taken a similar tack. If you get past their words and look at their voting records, it becomes more obvious what their real positions are.
They're mistaken if they think a woman for President will help them. Republicans are a long way from ever voting for a female for President. I'm not going to touch on the other "why".
Is that the conservative or libertarian position? What does "forcing its views on one side or the other" mean? There are two sides to most issues that are raised in Congress or anywhere else for that matter. Deciding one way or another results in one side being unhappy.
Even after all of this time, I still don't understand why the Conservatives eat their own. After the voracious attacks by the Left on the Right one would honestly think a stand would be taken. It is amazing but the hand of God keeps the riff raff out because it certainly does not have anything to do with unity within the Conservative community.
It's the same thing.
Beg to differ.
I would have said, "Sure CR can beat HRC".
Ask me the other one, and I say, "Dunno, yet. Tom Delay would be good, but he has to beat the current assault publicly and forcefully, and not be seen simply as 'getting away with it', before he can go national."
Long story short:
CR can (probably)beat HRC
CR is pro-abort, so I'd rather not unless I have to.
Thanx
"Smart enough to run Stanford"?
Now Repubs are jumping on Condi's bandwagon because polls are telling them she's the only one with a chance of beating Hillary in 08.
For starters, we don't know if Condi is running, and we don't know where she stands on the issues.
I like Jeb, but don't think he could win - only because of his last name - which I think is crazy. I like the VP, but am not sure about his "health" (knowing full well that the MSM would not mention "heart" if the toon could run).
Allen - I need to know more about him. Frist is too wimpy.
