Does Free Republic and Jim Robinson ban those who disagree with them? asks The Conservative Voice.
Most all of the posters seek "Anonymity" when replying to the question raised on The Conservative Voice website: Is Free Republic Biased?
Nathan Tabor, Senior Editor and webmaster, moderates this running "Topic of the Day" and everyday discussion.
One "Anonymous" poster writes: "Re: Is Free Republic Biased? Biased? Well, since the site is dominated by paid party operatives and federal employees who allow no dissent from the Bush regime's latest political propaganda releases, you could say that it's more a solid, one way amen corner for the neoconservative cabal than a biased website."
Still another "Anonymous" poster writes:"Re: Is Free Republic Biased? They banned me for complaining about losing my career to outsourcing. They taunted and gloated with perverse kitty pictures, infantile cartoons, and guttural remarks that reveal their mentality. The flames fanned by their hatred are now licking at their heels."
ALIPAC also posts the subject: Conservative Website FREE REPUBLIC Mutinies over Bush Comments" and notes: "With reports coming in from around the nation of a split in the conservative base over the Bush amnesty and open borders plans, the nations most frequented conservative website erupted into a mutiny against Bush policies on Thursday. This article below elicited the response. Please take the time to read this article and the comments of many conservatives that are dismayed by Bush's statements about the Minuteman Project on FreeRepublic.com As many of you know, Free Republic had made previous efforts to control the debate by purging immigration reform users."
What seems to be a fledgling conservative based site, The Conservative Voice appears to seek readership through indexed forums dedicated to the Mother Bird herself, Free Republic. If you were wondering what happens to those little birds that fall or are kicked out of the FR nest (which I know you do not, but makes my play on words work); you might find some of them under the Free Republic Indexed forums over on The Conservative Voice.
Such a deal! Ok, my info is enroute!
I'm vocal about it.
At a minimum, I should get 95% of the average wage paid to the operatives here by the White House. I enjoyed working for free because I felt strongly about the issues. But now I feel like I've been played for a sucker.
Does anyone know a good opus I can use as a template?
Thirty seconds isn't enough to judge a site, BUT -- I clicked under "Is Jeff Gannon wrong or right?", and just the first burst of postings indicated there seems to be no conservative control there whatever. If I want to see liberal hatevomit, I can go anywhere. I'm happy for SOME controls, and SOME Viking Kitty patrolling, or we'd be completely overwhelmed.
But I could get going on the lack of even-handedness in some areas, here at FR.
Dan
The first time I started posting on the web was in the late 90's at a "Democratic" forum (Not DU). I was very naive about these forums, but was startled by what I read there. I decided to have some fun and posed as "one of them" but would take some minor shots, play 'devil's advocate' and sometimes point out the 'other side'.
The level of hate directed against me grew in intensity as I become more outspoken. Once 'outed' as a Republican, the level of viciousness was unmatched by anything I have seen here.
Those who claim that Free Republic spews hate and anger, are either unaware or in denial of the depth of hate, anger and viciousness that is found at Democratic dominated forums.
Jim does an excellent job here and his work is appreciated. Leaving this thread going is testimony to that.
Nathan Tabor, 28-year-old spoiled brat with money who decided he would run for Congress as a straight-laced evangelical (some, but not enough people bought that line) who's now marking time until he can run for Congress again and try to fool more people.
You have been replaced by an illegal alien who is working cheap and being paid under the table and sending all of his money back to Mexico and draining the welfare system and living with 19 other people in a one room apartment and going to the hospital every day and refusing to learn English and taking all of our jobs and voting for Democrats and...
LOL - right about the first of the month there were a bunch of them.
Out of court?
Let's see:
Laz marries rich chick
Rich chick turns out to be a bad deal
Laz sues rich chick for divorse
Rich chick settles.
Laz retires to Lake Tahoe estate.
Yeah, that'll work.
Re: "Simply look at any thread that concerns drug legalization, border control or religion and you will find some pretty spirited arguments."
I agree with you there is spirited argument on FR, and there should be. I learn from the viewpoints expressed. I have never been afraid of someone disagreeing with me but have noticed some are very much threatened by disagreement and object to any objections. It is not just liberals and democrats who fit that description we see it here.
One example is the Religious Pages. I expect to be banned or in some way punished but almost all my friends have be unfairly suspended at one time or another, myself included, by the Religious Moderator. It is true this forum is personal property and they have a right to preserve the direction they want it to go, they have a right to enhance or degrade the public value. That being said the Religious section has little value to me anymore due to the heavy hand there. It was the single biggest reason I turned to FR but FR has lost much appeal as a result. I learn far less there than I used to, and I think less of FR in general for it.
If I am suspended for saying so, so be it. It will just have to be my little sacrifice, but a sacrifice of far less value to me today than it would have been 6 months ago.
I'll quit moaning about that tax return I filed last night and start living the life of luxury.
No sane person is for gigantic deficits and the unrestrained power of Government whether state or Federal.
"They banned me for complaining about losing my career to outsourcing. "
LOL. Anyone who lost his 'career' to outsourcing is not that capable. You can lose a job, but every single technology area that is being 'outsourced' is hiring more inside the U.S. as well, whether it is chip design, software, web development, IT, etc. I know, I've worked with overseas teams for 10+ years. You can find something.
Don't want to be harsh, but he's exagerrating or playing the blame game ... unless his job of making broom handles at minimum wage was moved to Mexico.
We need a 'no whiners' sign on the front door.
"They turned me in a Newt!"
"A Newt?"
"I got better."
I like the Duck picture tooooooooo
ROFL
For Pete's sake! FR is shelter in a storm of idiocy. This is not a news outlet; it is a forum for conservatives. Sheesh!
I wonder if we can find the thread or post that got him banned. That would shed some light of perspective on his whine.
I'll take lazamataz is hot for $100, Alex.
Time for the ultimate handgun?
