The Threat Matrix

The title refers to a daily report given to the president of the United States detailing the most serious terrorist threats against the country. To tackle those threats, the government has formed a top-notch task force to infiltrate the terror cells and cut off the danger.

"Every morning, the president receives a list of the top ten terrorist threats - this list is known as the threat matrix."

We here at FR are trying to be in conjunction with the daily reports around the world that involve threats. We try to provide a storehouse of information that takes hours of research.

We now know more about an alleged attack that triggered an increased national threat level last summer.

That's when U.S. officials said they had uncovered a plot targeting financial institutions. The plot involved bombs, banks and British nationals.

The detail was startling, the targets enormous. They included financial buildings in Washington, New York and New Jersey.

Announcement of Upcoming Voice Message from Usama bin Laden Ending the Truce with Europe

An unauthenticated message posted today, April 21, 2005, on an al-Qaeda affiliated message board alleges an upcoming audio message from Usama bin Laden using &ldquobin Laden&rsquos or [Ayman] al-Zawahiri voice” that will call &ldquothe end of the truce he suggested to the European countries to withdraw their forces from Iraq.”

An audio message purportedly from bin Laden issued April 14, 2004 offered a truce, or &ldquoreconciliation initiative”, with Europe in a &ldquoa commitment to stop operations against any state which vows to stop attacking Muslims or interfere in their affairs….&rdquo1 The truce was to be agreed upon three months following the issuance of the audio message.

Members of this message board expressed disbelief towards the announcement and requested verification.

Things have been pretty quiet from OBL lately as AQ has had some severe stratigic setback over the past 6 months. They need something to change momentum. With the upcoming British elections, they may be thinking that they could pull another Spain off. Furthermore, Al-Zarqwari has recently been spouting off in Iraq about how he is going to elimiate the British forces there. Those of you who monitor the jihadi sites need to keep your ears (eyes) perked up.

US offers hefty rewards for information regarding al Qaeda members

The United States on Wednesday offered hefty rewards for information regarding two Canadian citizens associated with al Qaeda.

"The State Department under the Rewards For Justice program is offering two new rewards up to 5 million dollars each to encourage individuals to come forward with information regarding Abdul Rauf bin-Habib Judai and Fakir bin-Abdulaziz Busura," State Department deputy spokesman Adam Ereli said at a briefing.

"These two gentlemen have extensive histories of extremist affiliations and links with al Qaeda. They are being sought in connection with possible terrorist threats in the United States," he said.

Ereli said Busura has declared his intention to become a " martyr" in a suicide attack and the two are believed to be traveling together.

The United States has accused al-Qaeda of being responsible for the Sept. 11, 2001 terror attacks that levelled the twin towers of the World Trade Center.
