The Threat Matrix

The title refers to a daily report given to the president of the United States detailing the most serious terrorist threats against the country. To tackle those threats, the government has formed a top-notch task force to infiltrate the terror cells and cut off the danger.

"Every morning, the president receives a list of the top ten terrorist threats - this list is known as the threat matrix."

We here at FR are trying to be in conjunction with the daily reports around the world that involve threats. We try to provide a storehouse of information that takes hours of research.

Threat Matrix - Daily Terrorism Threat
Details show extent of terror plot against U.S.
Full Story

We now know more about an alleged attack that triggered an increased national threat level last summer.

That's when U.S. officials said they had uncovered a plot targeting financial institutions. The plot involved bombs, banks and British nationals.

The detail was startling, the targets enormous. They included financial buildings in Washington, New York and New Jersey.

Surely Allah is The Commander in Chief

On the convoy to Haedes? These people mock their religious faith. They are Muslim heretics. Too bad they have no fear of Allah, because they should! They drag Allah's name in the mud and discredit the whole Muslim faith, yet rarely do Muslims show outrage for the slander of Allah's name. If causing non-Muslims to have intolerance for Muslims is their goal, they are certainly achieving it.

Afghans Turning in Weapons to Military, Civil Authorities

American Forces Press Service

WASHINGTON, April 18, 2005 – Afghan citizens, police and soldiers turned in three caches of munitions at separate locations near Bagram April 17.
Together, the caches contained more than 400 mortars, 75 artillery rounds, 31 rockets, 10 rocket-propelled grenades, nine hand grenades, and hundreds of small-arms rounds.

One cache was destroyed where it was discovered. The two others were transported to local coalition bases for later destruction.

Two improvised explosive devises were also discovered the same day in Helmand province -- one by the Afghan National Army outside of Lashkar Gah, the other by the Garmser district police along a dirt road leading to a small village in that district. Both Afghan citizens and coalition forces travel the road frequently.

"Today, more then half of the IEDs are discovered before they detonate, and 90 percent of all discoveries are the result of an Afghan coming forward with the information," said Army Lt. Col. Jack Knox, commander of the coalition's IED task force. "Afghans are reporting the discovery of an IED to either the Afghan National Army, the Afghan National Police or directly to coalition forces."

Knox also noted that only four percent of the IEDs turned in are linked to any kind of monetary reward. “The remaining 96 percent are the direct result of a desire to cooperate with the Afghan government and with Combined Joint Task Force 76,” he said. “Overall, there’s been an upswing in the turn-in of caches. People realize that winning the IED fight is a means of the return of stability and law and order to this country."

In Dawlet Shah, a district in eastern Laghman province, the local police chief turned over another weapons cache to the Afghan National Police April 16. The ANP, in turn, handed the cache over to the 3rd Battalion, 3rd Marine Regiment, at its forward operating base in the province.

This cache consisted of various munitions and weapon parts, including three 82 mm mortar rounds, three Russian machine guns (circa 1940s), three RPG launchers, six rocket launchers, one DShK machine gun, and 38 boxes of 12.7 mm ammunition. All items were in serviceable condition, and are awaiting disposal by explosive –ordnance disposal personnel.

"Philippines Troops Rescue Hostages"
Thursday, April 21, 2005

MANILA, Philippines —

ARTICLE SNIPPET: "The captives, mostly female university students, were traveling in a jeep in Saguiran town in Lanao del Sur (search) province, 800 kilometers 500 miles south of Manila, when armed men took control of the vehicle and herded the captives into a hinterland area while being chased by troops and Muslim guerrillas, Melo said.

Of the 19 passengers, six captives, including the driver, an old man and two Muslim women, were released shortly after the abduction, apparently because some of them bruised their feet during the uphill hike and could not walk fast enough while the abductors tried to flee from marines and police, military officials said."

Office of the Spokesman
This information is current as of today, Thu Apr 21 2005 00:00:47 GMT-0700.

Tunisia

April 19, 2005

This Public Announcement is being issued to alert Americans to the potential for terrorist actions in Tunisia. This Public Announcement expires on July 19, 2005.

The United States Government has strong indications that individuals may be planning imminent terrorist actions in Tunisia. We have no further information on specific targets, timing, or method of attack, or capabilities of these individuals.

In the past, terrorists have not distinguished between official and civilian targets. As always, we take this information seriously. Terrorist attacks may occur on or around dates of religious significance, such as the Moulid holiday in the third week of April. U.S. Government facilities remain at a heightened state of alert. Americans in Tunisia are urged to remain vigilant with regard to their personal security and to exercise caution.

This Public Announcement supplements the Middle East and North Africa Public Announcement of March 14, 2005 and the Worldwide Public Announcement of March 8, 2005, both available at http://travel.state.gov.

Americans living or traveling in Tunisia are encouraged to register with the U.S. Embassy through the State Department’s travel registration website, https://travelregistration.state.gov. Americans without Internet access may register directly with the U.S. Embassy. The U.S. Embassy is located at Zone Nord Est des Berges du Lac Nord de Tunis, 2045 La Goulette Tunisie. The phone number is (216) 71 107 000 and the website is http://usembassy.state.gov/tunis/. Travel Warning
United States Department of State
Bureau of Consular Affairs
Washington, DC 20520

This information is current as of today, Thu Apr 21 2005 00:03:19 GMT-0700.

CENTRAL AFRICAN REPUBLIC

April 19, 2005

This Travel Warning is being issued to inform American citizens that although an American officer is now posted at the U.S. Embassy in Bangui, the Department of State continues to warn U.S. citizens against travel to the Central African Republic (CAR). This Travel Warning supersedes the Travel Warning for Central African Republic issued October 29, 2004.

In March 2003, rebel forces that had been operating in the countryside outside Bangui took over the capital and seized power from the government of the CAR. The leader of the rebel group declared himself the President of CAR and remains in power. Although the country held peaceful elections in March 2005, the situation remains fluid and U.S. citizens who remain in the CAR despite this Travel Warning are urged to exercise caution at public gatherings. Furthermore, there continue to be reports of armed robberies along roads outside of the capital.

In November 2002, the U.S. Embassy in Bangui suspended operations. In early 2005, limited American staff returned to the Embassy, although dependent minors of American Embassy staff have not been allowed to return. Because there is currently no consular officer posted in Bangui, the Embassy can provide only limited emergency services to U.S. citizens.

U.S. citizens in the CAR are strongly advised to register their presence in the country by using the State Department’s travel registration website, https://travelregistration.state.gov. Americans without Internet access, who are already in the CAR, may register directly with the U.S. Embassy in Bangui. By registering, American citizens make it easier for the Embassy to contact them in case of emergency. The U.S. Embassy in the CAR is located at Avenue David Dacko, B.P. 924, Bangui; tel. (236) 61-02-00; fax (236) 61-44-94. For additional information on safety and security in the CAR, contact the Consular Section of the U.S. Embassy in Yaounde, Cameroon at telephone (237) 223-4014, (237) 223-0512, or 223-0581; fax (237) 223-0753. Americans may also obtain updated information from the American Embassy in N'djamena, Chad at telephone (235) 51-70-09, 51-92-33 or 51-90-52; fax (235) 51-56-54.

U.S. citizens should also consult the Department of State's most recent Consular Information Sheet for Central African Republic, and the Worldwide Caution Public Announcement, which are located on the Department's Internet web site at http://travel.state.gov. Up-to-date information on safety and security can also be obtained by calling 1-888-407-4747 toll free in the U.S., or for callers outside the U.S. and Canada, a regular toll-line at 1-202-501-4444. These numbers are available from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Eastern Time, Monday through Friday (except U.S. federal holidays).

CATTLE CAMP ARABS PROMISE TO FREE SLAVES AS MORE THAN 300 SUDANESE SLAVES ARE LIBERATED

By Michael Ireland
Chief Correspondent, ASSIST News Service

ZURICH, SWITZERLAND (ANS) -- 336 Black Sudanese slaves were liberated between 23 March and 14 April through the mediation of the Arab-Dinka Peace Committees at Warawar and Manger Ater, Southern Sudan.

According to Christian Solidarity International (CSI), the freed slaves were registered at three checkpoints (Bac & Rumrol, Aweil East County, and Mayen Adhal, Aweil North County) before proceeding to their homes and families.

A press release from CSI received by ASSIST News Service (ANS) says registration was undertaken jointly by local representatives of CSI, the Episcopal Church of Sudan, the Church of Christ, the Government of Sudan's Committee for the Eradication of Women and Children (CEAWC) and the SPLM's Sudan Relief and Rehabilitation Commission (SRRC).

Preliminary analysis of interviews with 51 of the female slaves over the age of 11 indicate the following pattern of abuse:
37% subjected to female genital mutilation (FGM).
71% raped.
51% forcibly converted to Islam from Christianity or a tribal faith.
98% subjected to racial insults.
100% physically abused.
100% forced to work without pay.
CSI gave returning slaves grain rations and survival kits, including a cooking pot, mosquito net, plastic sheeting, a water container, a sickle and fishing hooks.

"At a US government-funded Arab-Dinka peace conference in Nyamlell, Southern Sudan on April 7-9, Arab cattle camp leaders pledged to free their remaining Dinka slaves. A conference resolution called on CSI to assist newly formed Arab-Dinka committees to locate and liberate slaves from Arab cattle camps," the release says.

Conference host, Chief Dut Majak Majak of Nyamlell, thanked CSI for promoting peace between Arabs and Dinkas for the past ten years. He also observed that all Dinkas attending the conference had relatives who had been freed from enslavement by CSI.

Dr. John Eibner pledged CSI's continuing support for Arab-Dinka efforts to abolish slavery in Sudan. He also warned that unless the enslavement of Black Africans is rapidly eradicated in Darfur and other parts of Northern Sudan a comprehensive and lasting peace for the war torn country will remain elusive.

In September 2001, U.S. President George W. Bush identified the eradication of slavery as a paramount goal of his administration's Sudan peace initiative.

Conservative estimates place the number of Black Sudanese slaves in the tens of thousands. The Report of the UN's Commission of Inquiry on Darfur, dated January 25, 2005, confirmed that the armed forces of the Government of Sudan and allied militias are committing "crimes against humanity" in Darfur, including slavery and the sexual abuse of women.

At the beginning of February, the Sudanese government suspended the repatriation of freed slaves to Southern Sudan in response to criticism from UNICEF. Southern Sudanese community leaders have called for its immediate resumption.

Good to hear the treatment is behind you.

Of course I will continue to pray for TMPO2, and his

But I have to ask,

They would have used them on 9/11. Do you think the nukes came in after 9/11? I read they need maintenance and cannot sit too long? Who knows? I was perturbed last night watching the History Channel regarding all the Russian Jews that were let in to our country in the early 90's. They inundated Brighton Beach Brooklyn. They sent us their hard-core prisons and scum. They should all be deported back to Russia. I did not know about this at all I guess I had my head in the sand when I lived in Yonkers at the time. We are a scum country and we invite all the scum to come here and ruin everything. Ok I'm better now :)
