The Threat Matrix

The title refers to a daily report given to the president of the United States detailing the most serious terrorist threats against the country. To tackle those threats, the government has formed a top-notch task force to infiltrate the terror cells and cut off the danger.

"Every morning, the president receives a list of the top ten terrorist threats - this list is known as the threat matrix."

We here at FR are trying to be in conjunction with the daily reports around the world that involve threats. We try to provide a storehouse of information that takes hours of research.

We now know more about an alleged attack that triggered an increased national threat level last summer.

That's when U.S. officials said they had uncovered a plot targeting financial institutions. The plot involved bombs, banks and British nationals.

The detail was startling, the targets enormous. They included financial buildings in Washington, New York and New Jersey.

"The author emphasizes Zarqawi’s pledge of solidarity with Usama bin Laden, as he entreats the al-Qaeda leader for support in this fight, and watches as a “new dawn starts to appear in the horizon.” "

This emphasis on the sectarian issue though their legitimate strategy, may be misdirection. The "chatter" during the summer of 2001 indicated an attack overseas (in the Mideast against US naval forces or perhaps the G-8 summit). The real target was here.

Interestingly, the last Koranic chapter (Surah) to mention Pharaoh is al-Fajr (The Dawn). Some Jihadis equate the President of the United States to Pharaoh, and the destruction of the United States with this 89th Surah. A "new dawn on the horizon" could refer not only to this Surah with its images of falling towers and its story of the judgment day facing "infidels", but also to the visual imagery of a nuclear blast.

The UBL pre-election tape from seven months ago had this allusion to this Surah as well:

"And as I looked at those demolished towers in Lebanon, it entered my mind that we should punish the oppressor in kind and that we should destroy towers in America in order that they taste some of what we tasted and so that they be deterred from killing our women and children."

As I indicated before, that UBL tape to Americans on "how to prevent another Manhattan" was an implied yet specific-WMD threat (if not nuclear).

The international terrorist conference in Tehran last year that commemorated the 25th anniversary of the Islamic revolution was called "The Ten Days of Dawn" after the opening verses of this Surah. This conference concluded 10 days before the February 2004 elections that restored hard-line control to the Iranian parliament.

Some reports place Zarqawi in Iran.

The Iranian military is warning the military of some unspecified election plot called the "10 plus 1" plan and a "20 plus 1" plan.

You guys realize that these photos are media pool photos and military forces personal photos right? There really arent any jihaadist that are lurking on the USS whatever during a furneral at sea. These photos can be found on military sites and personal soldier blogs all over the net.

Thanks for posting that info neosgirl.

It does sound as if a "go" signal might have been given. I have no idea of the significance but the repeated mentioning of the "rings" caught my attention. Also the repeated use of the word "Kent" in both links caught my attention, but again I have no idea of the significance, if any.

Also, it seemed as if something/someone had been in Bekka (Bekaa) Valley, Lebanon and was moved.

Didn't like the sound of this: victory in the horror propellent month

Bottom line for me is I have no idea but I do appreciate you posting the links here on TM.
