Tripoli, 31 May (AKI) - An al-Qaeda cell in Libya has announced in a statement published on the Internet that it is planning an attack on the coastal city of Darna, in the north-east of the country. The message, picked up by the Arab newspaper Al-Quds al-Arabi, goes on to say that to avoid this attack Libya must immediately release one of the cell's leaders from prison.
As well as attacking the town, which is located between Bengazi and the capital, Tripoli, the group also talks of a list of al-Qaeda targets, which it says includes the Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi. The newspaper reports that the statement was signed by the head of the local terror group, Abu al-Bara al-Libi.

According to the analysis, the author believes that Zarqawi is using psychological warfare against the American media and speaks with great confidence about his set plans. The upcoming phase of Zarqawis operation, following the previous phase that was completely accomplished, includes a fitna (war) within Islam between the Shia and Sunni. The author emphasizes Zarqawis pledge of solidarity with Usama bin Laden, as he entreats the al-Qaeda leader for support in this fight, and watches as a new dawn starts to appear in the horizon.

TERRORISM: AL QAEDA SIGNS UP TEENAGERS, SPANISH JUDGE SAYS
Rome, 1 June (AKI) - Al-Qaeda is targeting teenagers in its latest recruitment campaign, a Spanish magistrate leading the probe into Islamic terrorism in Spain, including the 11 March 2004 attacks in Madrid that killed 191 people, has told an Italian weekly magazine. "Teenage terrorists are more dangerous than their 'older brothers' because they are more fanatical," explained, Judge Baltasar Garzon in an interview with Espresso, which will be published Thursday.
Al-Qaeda's "very recent" attempts to deploy boys aged 16-17 are already bearing fruit, Garzon said, referring to some of his own investigations.
"I remember one of them, a 17-year-old who I personally interrogated. When I asked him why [he had become a terrorist]? He replied: 'because I am fighting for freedom.'
I then asked him what he meant by 'freedom?'"
Garzon says he was "shocked" by the boy's prompt reply:"Stop your demagogy."
While the teenage militants are not well-versed in the teachings of Islam, they are motivated by their "simple, direct" ideas and convictions, Garzon said.
Iraq is, and will remain the largest breeding ground for Islam inspired terrorist groups, according to the Spanish judge who has been investigating extremist Muslims over the past four years. .
"Very experienced militants are operating in Iraq. They are highly trained and have a thorough knowledge of the techniques of guerrilla warfare. When the current instability reaches an end I really don't think these militants will retire to a private life," said Garzon, adding that "Europe will be one of their targets."
"We need more international co-operation between the intelligence services and the judicial authorities. If this can't be achieved, then the Iraqi problem will explode," he said.
But the threat of Islamic terrorism has spread well beyond the borders of Iraq, Garzon said.
"Other groups are capitalising on the action of radical Islamists and are beginning to wield great influence, as if they were one political movement. I am referring to groups such as the Muslim Brotherhood, which is preparing for action from North Africa, particularly Egypt, Algeria and Tunisia," he said.
In the interview, Garzon also praised the Italian judiciary for working together with their Spanish colleagues in hunting down those responsible for the 11 March 2004, Madrid bombings, that along with those killed, left some 1,800 people injured.
A typical example of a successful Spanish-Italian operation was the June 2004 extradition to Spain of Osman Rabei, also known as Mohammed the Egyptian, after police picked him up in Milan. Rabei is believed to be one of the masterminds of the Madrid bombings that targeted morning commuters at train stations in the Spanish capital.

OPINION - After reading a number of analysis and opinions regarding "his" plans I have to agree with the above statement.
As an aside, if Zarqawi is still in Iran; it could be his confidence is coming from something he's been told.
On the other hand, he's almost begging for UBL to do something.
In conclusion, the "Zarqawi" speech is all about pumping up the jihad support base. -END OF OPINION

All this, if true, alters completely the Middle East and world strategic equation.

And this means that the world as a whole is likelier to be a much more dangerous place for a long time to come.

Two of Five Suicide Bomb Planners Were Released from Jail

(IsraelNN.com) Two of the five terrorists who planned to carry out a twin suicide bombing in Jerusalem Thursday recently were released from prison. Hamza Hassin Brigia, who lives near Bethlehem and was responsible for the Islamic Jihad infrastructure in Bethlehem, was released from administrative detention last February. Muhanad Abu Romy was recently released after having been jailed for buying weapons from Islamic Jihad terrorists.
The terrorists had placed the explosives in cardboard boxes and put them inside bags with shrapnel and nails in order to increase bodily injury.
One of the arguments against freeing more jailed terrorists and prisoners is that research has shown that 50 per cent of them return to terror. The High Court Wednesday night rejected an appeal against the planned release of 400 terrorists and prisoners Thursday morning.
Things are heating up!

Thanks DC.
You are very welcome.
I am a more then a little worried with the news of the past few days.
"...disguised as a woman."
It wouldn't be the first time a male jihadi has dressed up
in a burqa.
"I don't think sooooooo!!"
Probably not, more likely SYRIA or IRAN, but as you know;
I post the "exact quotes" and let the chips fall where they may.
It has been interesting.
