The Threat Matrix

The title refers to a daily report given to the president of the United States detailing the most serious terrorist threats against the country. To tackle those threats, the government has formed a top-notch task force to infiltrate the terror cells and cut off the danger.

"Every morning, the president receives a list of the top ten terrorist threats - this list is known as the threat matrix."

We here at FR are trying to be in conjunction with the daily reports around the world that involve threats. We try to provide a storehouse of information that takes hours of research.

Threat Matrix - Daily Terrorism Threat
Details show extent of terror plot against U.S.
Full Story

We now know more about an alleged attack that triggered an increased national threat level last summer.

That's when U.S. officials said they had uncovered a plot targeting financial institutions. The plot involved bombs, banks and British nationals.

The detail was startling, the targets enormous. They included financial buildings in Washington, New York and New Jersey.

There's something horrifically wrong with permitting terrorist organizations to breed and continue operating on American soil!

Unbelievable isn't it?

I am not comforted by the arrest of two people.

California is infested. .

I see your point. Let me know if you hear arabs or persians are moving out of the area or quiting their jobs.

US diplomatic facilities in Indonesia reopen following security threat

JAKARTA, Indonesia (AP) — The United States reopened its diplomatic offices in Indonesia on Tuesday after shutting them last week because of an unspecified security threat.

The U.S. Embassy, however, reiterated its long-standing warning of the possibility of militant attacks in the world’s most populous Muslim nation.

Into the nuclear winter

May 30, 2005

The subtext was just as compelling: what can be done to minimise the chances of terrorist fanatics getting their hands on a nuke or two and unleashing their evil on a massive scale?

But after a month of discussion and negotiation at UN headquarters in New York, the five-yearly review conference of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty ended in shambles on Friday when the 188 participating nations – Australia included – were unable to reach agreement on a single matter of substance.

THE BASTARDS. Don't they get it? The world is out of time! I recall June 2005 is the month of the nuclear ayatola.

Thanks for posting this. I did not see this on the news.

California is infested.

Most of the USA is infested. The simple act of enforcing laws that are already on the books would put the brakes on this and other problems we are having. Whatever happened to the concept of leading by example? When we tolerate terrorism on our own soil (whether by jihadis, gangs or others), it's open season on the security of decent law-abiding Americans. Here's a couple of clauses from the US Constitution:

Article I - Section 8 - Clause 15: To provide for calling forth the Militia to execute the Laws of the Union, suppress Insurrections and repel Invasions;

Article III - Section 3 - Clause 1: Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying War against them, or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort. No Person shall be convicted of Treason unless on the Testimony of two Witnesses to the same overt Act, or on Confession in open Court.

Article IV - Section. 4 - The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government, and shall protect each of them against Invasion; and on Application of the Legislature, or of the Executive (when the Legislature cannot be convened) against domestic Violence.

You're welcome Selene. Guess the point of the meeting on the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty boiled down to what they were having for lunch those days and not much more. Instead we have super-powers supporting and supplying rogue nations (who possess nuclear power) due to their own selfish and power-hungry quest for world domination. They condemn terrorism, but gear themselves and their "friend" nations to the maximum they are able. Kruschev's warning may very well be accurate if they can get away with it.

"US Intel: Plutonium Sent By North Korea This Year Makes Iran Direct [Nuclear] Threat"

http://in.news.yahoo.com/040722/137/2f3nb.html

(snip)

"Rogue states, such as North Korea and Iran, may also be developing the capability to pose an EMP threat," said the Commission to Assess the Threat to the United States from Electromagnetic Pulse Attack.

The nine-member commission did not specify in publicly available material the source of its information on North Korea and Iran, which President George W. Bush grouped with prewar Iraq in what he called an "axis of evil."

Russia and China had "considered" limited nuclear attack options that, unlike their Cold War plans, involve EMP as their primary or sole weapon, it said.

http://www.washingtontimes.com/upi-breaking/20050309-034257-9961r.htm

(snip)

Wood and Pry said knowledge of how to use an EMP as a weapon has been widespread for decades and China, Russia, Iran and North Korea all have discussed using EMP against the United States. They also said the commission was told by Russian military officers that Korea has the technology to develop a Super EMP and probably could do so in a few years. Terrorists, especially if helped by Iran, also could use an EMP weapon.

Long-time military analyst John Pike disagreed that terrorists were likely to use an EMP.

"It is just very difficult to imagine how terrorists are going to be able to lay hands on a nuclear-tipped missile, and launch it and reprogram it in such a way that it would be a high-altitude burst like that," said Pike, director of GlobalSecurity.org. "I would be concerned about a state doing that. I would certainly be concerned about North Korea pulling a stunt like that. That would have to be a real concern -- that North Korea would do it."

Glad you see the point. Most people don't understand our two most vulnerable points are just outside our jurisdiction. No matter how many restraints our government makes affecting our citizens, the weak points remain.
