I won't applaud reparations. No matter who gets nailed.
I think Rev. Perryman's main intent was to create a legal record of all the harm done to African Americans by the Democrat Party.
I'm not a legal expert but I believe that one must ask for some 'compensation' when suing for wrongdoing.
Please take a look at Perryman's website:

And reread the details of his case in post #1.
I won't even explain my reasoning, as I think everyone can figure it out for themselves.

same here.
reparations WILL cause a civil war.
i did no wrong to no black, my parents did no wrong, my grandparents did no wrong, my great grandparents did no wrong. my sister eats lives and breaths geniology and has gone back hundreds of years. we are of irish descent and at a time in the past were not the most cherished nationality in the USA.
to me this just adds to the handout gimme gimme image many whites have towards blacks.
to all my friends no matter what race.
you want money, EARN IT! i ain't given it up because your dear old great great grandpappy was sold into slavery by a nieghboring tribe.
i don't want my rant to offend anyone, but i am very passionate about this issue and will fight by all means to thwart any attempt at getting into my pocket.
"I won't applaud reparations. No matter who gets nailed."
Same here. But I love reading the title of this thread!
I agree - reparations as it has been recently foisted upon the nation has tied the wrongs of slavery to the shortcomings of the American Negro. There is only one instance where reparations would be proper... when a surviving former slave comes forward with his/her claims.
Until then, it's just a shakedown targetted against Whites - some of whom to be sure may be descended from slave-owners, but who themselves are not responsible for what happened over 150 years ago.
The most telling - and universally absent from reparations discussions - factor: If reparations seeks to put a value on the damage from slavery, what price the blood of 600,000 who fought and died in our Civil War?
