One is left to wonder, how much of the 527 activity is about political commitment? And how much is about fund-raising...for the sake of the fund-raisers?

HOW DARE you ask such a question! Don't you know rhat they a selfless caring people who only want what's best for America, and to save us all from the depredation of the evil ultra-extremeist-far rightwing barbarians. Oh sure they do (on occation) take a couple of bucks to feed themselves, BUT only under the direst of circumstances.

Or money laundering?

I'm in the middle of reading York's book and it very good

The dems copied/stole Rove's ideas and IMO .. it sounds like Moveon.org was just a front for other 527's like ACT that Soros was funding

An organization, such as moveon.org, whose agenda is nothing but hate, will never gain a majority in this country.   Credit the American people, as being much smarter than that.

I hope not but you can't tell it by some of the Senators who spew their venom all the time.

I wish more people knew more about who and what is behind these groups and how they are closely tied with the Democrat party. The way I look at these far left groups is that the Democrat Party will have to suck up to them for their fund raising appeal. This will take their Party further to the left and even less acceptable to the majority of us in fly over country.

George Soros and other leftists like him with big bucks, will continue to give big bucks to the Democrats and this will lead to the Democrats remaining in the minority for decades to come. In fact... I predict the Democrat Party will implode by 2009 and people like Nancy Pelosi and Barbara Boxer will be the cause of it. Traditional Democrats do not subscribe to the anti-American platform that today's Democrat Party aspires to. I see the DLC becoming more and more unhappy with the direction of the Democrat Party to the point where they call for a split in the party. The leftist agenda is simply unacceptable to the majority of Americans and the left is in for a rude awakening in the next few years.

Hillary Clinton can see this, and this is why she is moving to the "center". But that pear legged sea hag isn't fooling anybody either. She might get the nomination in 2008, but her candidacy will spark a huge amount of people who have never voted before in their lives to register to vote in order to make sure she never becomes the POTUS. These people will come out in droves and Hillary will be finally shown the door

Yeah. They're just a wacko extremist fringe. No voter takes them seriously.
They're just freaky liberals.

They may be wacko and extremist, but they must be observed and taken seriously.   As the article stated, they are the offspring from the misguided San Francisco and Berkley antiwar 60s movements.   When core Americans recognize that, they back away from them. The Democrats are now liken to Wiley E. Coyote falling off a cliff...heading aAAAHHHHhhhhh, for the bottom.

I agree

I don't think I've ever seen this kind of behavior from the Dems
