SAN JOSE, Calif. — A woman who claimed she scooped up a human finger along with her chili at a Wendy's restaurant has decided not to sue the fast-food chain.

Anna Ayala dropped her claim because it "has caused her great emotional distress and continues to be difficult emotionally," said her attorney, Jeffrey Janoff.

To the tune of "Greensleeves (What Child is this?)"

What finger is this that's laid to rest,
Inside the chili I'm eating?
It stands up straight, a finger of fate
And now it needs some reheating.

This, this is not my aunt,
and not escaped from the packing plant,
Haste, haste with suit at law,
The finger, my ticket to riches.

There was an Applebees in my area where a customer found a lizard head in their salad.

The first time I ever tried an Applebee's, my spoon hit something hard in the ice cream scoop in my dessert. I unearthed it, and it was about the size and shape of a small finger...

However, it turned out to be an uncooked breaded cheese stick that had apparently slipped out of one of the bags in the freezer and fallen into the ice cream bin.

The manager and waitress were absolutely appalled and apologized repeatedly, but my wife and I just thought it was really funny.

There was a real case of Jack in the Box serving kangaroo in hawaii. It turned out Jack in the Box was rather blameless because the problem was a meat supplier screwup. Anyway kangaroo isn't so bad.

There was an Applebees in my area where a customer found a lizard head in their salad. No lie- ... I still won't go to Applebees.

I once found some curly pieces of steel wire in my food at Applebees. At first they seemed suspicious that I might be trying to scam them, but soon the manager came over and admitted to me that they had been cleaning the grill with a wire brush and pieces of it ended up in my food. He gave me my meal for free. I went back although now I haven't eaten there in years. If I had swallowed the wire it could have been very dangerous.
