SAN JOSE, Calif. A woman who claimed she scooped up a human finger along with her chili at a Wendy's restaurant has decided not to sue the fast-food chain.
Anna Ayala dropped her claim because it "has caused her great emotional distress and continues to be difficult emotionally," said her attorney, Jeffrey Janoff.

God help the other restaurants and businesses in the area.
Her checkbook is probably by depleted now and needs an infusion of cash.

seriesly, Anna Ayala dropped her claim because it "has caused her great emotional distress and continues to be difficult emotionally," That, and Wendy's is going to sue the chili out of her....

Wendy's really should sue this witch, with a vengeance.
To: Asphalt
Has it been determined that she planted it? I remember reading that she has a history of lawsuits.
To: Asphalt
This is surprising. I just can't put my finger on why.

Anna Ayala dropped her claim because it "has caused her great emotional distress and continues to be difficult emotionally," said her attorney, Jeffrey Janoff. And no amount of money that we could win in this lawsuit could be worth that.
Nope - can't imagine a lawyer saying those words.
Shalom.

I know a female in North Carolina who does this sort of thing on a regular basis. It has come to the point where lawyers and judges here know her by reputation. She goes for the minimum $10,000 "nuisance settlement" that many insurance companies are willing to pay, because that is less expensive than actually going to court.

similiar to the Jack in the Box horsemeat rumors years ago...the fraud will still probably keep me out of Wendy's for a few years more until I forget about it...I wonder how many millions Wendy's will actually lose from this...
To: Asphalt
I hate to admit but I haven't been able to go to Wendy's since this happened. Used to get salads for lunch there all the time.

When I was a kid, my mom paid good money to buy us kids fish fingers. If only we had known we were throwing away millions in lucrative lawsuits.
