DeLay - No. 1
NOTE: This is the second in a series of reports about Congressman Tom DeLay and why he must be removed from leadership and from the House of Representatives.
I am wondering when the Republican Party is going to finally have its fill with Tom DeLay. That this man is even walking free is beyond belief.
What short memories people have. They forget that DeLay killed a woman. Yes, he did.
It was many years ago. DeLay and some other Republican men were partying with some young single women. Their wives were at home baking cookies while the men were consuming mass quantities of alcohol and going after the young women's cookies.
DeLay took off late from the party to give a ride home to a woman named Mary Jo. Of course, he was in no condition to drive.
Well, you knew it would happen. He drove off a bridge. The car was in about six feet of water and upside down. DeLay made it out of there okay. Mary Jo didn't.
The really interesting part is that Mary Jo's body had very little water in the lungs. She didn't drown, but actually suffocated when the air pocket in which she was breathing was depleted of oxygen.
What did DeLay do? He fled the scene and spent nine hours trying to cover up the crime. Had he gotten help right away, Mary Jo would probably still be alive. Although his state required a certain minimum jail sentence for leaving the scene of a crime where there was an injury, DeLay's sentence was suspended.
This saga was so typical of DeLay. He was a drunk. He was kicked out of Harvard for having a friend take his Spanish final. At the time he drove off the bridge, he was driving with a suspended license. And he paid off Mary Jo's family so they would go away. Yes, DeLay got away with killing this poor young woman, and yet he still holds office.
What? Wait a minute, someone is interrupting me. Are you kidding? It wasn't Tom DeLay who killed the girl, fled the scene, covered up, and paid off the family? It was who? Ted Kennedy? Oh, okay. Never mind.

This cute little twist does nothing to address whether or not Tom DeLay has broken ethics rules and should be held accountable. Using your logic, all Republicans can now do anything they want and shall go blameless because Chappaquiddick was worse. Yes the Dems are hypocrites. We know that. But it looks increasingly like DeLay screwed the pooch and should fess up.

Doug nailed it so far in, that the backside of the hammer would now be of NO use for extraction. LOL. That hammer, of course, being of the smaller, hand-held type. Not The *BIG* Hammer. LOL. THAT Hammer has an extra amount of GUTS, and WIDE-spread support.
Thanks for the ping and great comment, fortunecookie, and likewise, Ski.
The trolls will be in need of the Heimlich Maneuver to DISLODGE Doug's non-pesticidal, organic, throat blocking, choke-inducing, BIG tasty piece of *food* to chew on.
As Rush said yesterday: "CHEW CUD." LOL.

Have a family member interning for our US congress right now.
Apparently, yesterday, move-on.org started a massive phone bank to call all senators and reps and not only trash social security private accounts, but to trash Tom Delay.
I sure hope every Freeper, across the board, regardless of our different passions, is calling their respective senators and congressmen EVERYDAY, that is only THREE CALLS, and SUPPORTING the social security reform and SUPPORTING TOM DELAY WITH ALL OF THEIR HEARTS.
I have had it with the liberals and their main stream media lapdogs CRUSHING THE REALLY GOOD PEOPLE in our PARTY. I AM! I HAVE HAD IT.
You fight fire with fire.
If FREEPERS cannot take a few minutes to call and get their names on the lISTS as SUPPORTERS of good men and good policy....then WHAT IS THE POINT of this FORUM?

Terrific...I am off to do the same today...and will be calling Hastert too, to ask him to get off his duff and call a press conferance and SUPPORT TOM DELAY with all of his HEART! I agree with RUSH....we need some MAJOR CAJONES instead of the luke warm make nicey poo girlie men we are seeing right now!
Our President cannot be the ONLY DIRECT SPEAKING MEMBER OF OUR PARTY..........these men and women need to get out there and start acting like statesmen instead of cowed fufu poodles.

Excellent! The hypocrisy and double-standards set by the Liberals of today is sickening. Today information was released on Bernie Sanders (Socialist from Vermont) who hired his family and paid them over $150,000 dollars to work with him campaign from 2002 to 2004. There are a lot of other questions about his campaign and expenditures; plus, more questions are being raised about other Democrats such as Pelosi. The Democrats forgot the Conservatives are learning to fight back, but the main lesson for Conservatives to learn at this time is to stop eating their own especially in the panoramic view for the Liberals to see.
Thanks

Since the death of Joe in WW II, and the murders of John and Robert, the Kennedy saga has been nothing more than a story of wrecked lives.
The fabled "Curse of the Kennedys" has been brought on mainly by their own behavior.
