A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day
Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997. Over 100,000 people have registered for posting privileges on Free Republic, and the forum is read daily by tens of thousands of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.
A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day was introduced on June 24, 2002. It's only a small room in JimRob's house where we can get to know one another a little better; salute and support our military and our leaders; pray for those in need; and congratulate those deserving. We strive to keep our threads entertaining, fun, and pleasing to look at, and often have guest writers contribute an essay, or a profile of another FReeper.
On Mondays please visit us to see photos of A FEW OF FR'S VETERANS AND ACTIVE MILITARY
If you have a suggestion, or an idea, or if there's a FReeper you would like to see featured, please drop one of us a note in FR mail.
We're having fun and hope you are!

~ ~ Hes Free ~ ~ ~ by Pippin ~
On Saturday, April 2, 2005 Pope John Paul II was set free.
Free to be with God, free of suffering and pain. No longer trapped in a mortal body that was failing and worn out in the service of God and the people.
He was an inspiration to me, though I knew it not for a long time. I took for granted his continued strong presence and his kindness and love for all Gods people, not only Roman Catholics, but Protestants and people of other religions and creeds.
His faith sustained him in hard times as well as the joyful ones. It was his faith that moved him to forgive and to pray for the one who tried to take his life back in 1981.
God had plans for John Paul II and He was not to be put off!
No, not by a crazed would-be assassin or a world gone mad.
He was a man of peace, a man of faith and courage and an inner strength.
What touched me most about the Pope is the way he reached out to all the people, especially the young people, and they in turn, responded in kind.
I've prayed that God would grant me that kind of faith; it has been waning ever since 09/11/01, much to my dismay and fear.
Ive prayed and cried.
But watching what Pope John Paul II has gone through these past several years has taught me that there is no shame in suffering as long as its done with dignity.
So instead of complaining about my own infirmities and short comings, Ill think of him and remember, as hes always done, that God is in charge and He will never abandon us. After all, God did not abandon John Paul II, He freed him! ~ Marie (Pippin)

I used to build my posts in the Post Article Forum here at FR, then after a while Billie told me about the Notepad thingie. lol Oh, that is much too nerve-racking for me! I am always afraid I am going to accidently hit "post" and then have to go to the moderators and get them to remove it. LOL. Sort of like what dutchess did, I guess. Personally, I think it is just plain mean of John to put the "preview" and "post" buttons so close together. "Preview" should be on the right and "Post" allllllll the way over on the left. LOL
Looks like I was the only one using Domania to create my posts from the beginning. It worked great except for the problem of Domania going down and not being able to get to my page. Notepad works much better. :-)

Thank you (((LadyX))). Your contributions are appreciated just as much.

Oh yeah, I agree about that post and preview feature. Don't know how I kept from hitting the wrong button during that time, it's a miracle! Do remember having some close calls. :)

I love to fly kites, too.

In truth, Billie, I typed into Google Images "bouquet," and it brought up wedding ones! I first noticed what beautiful white roses and other spring flowers, and then thought that looked like a 'necklace' and a strapless gown - did the right-click thingie and saw that it was a bride's bouquet. :)

Thank you SO much for this beautiful tribute to this man I always called a living saint .. oh, how much he gave, how much he was loved. I found this on another thread.. I don't know if you heard it, but it's achingly beautiful, it will touch your heart ..it's so beautiful. It brings me to tears because I loved this man, Pope John Paul II, and it hurt to see him suffer and to witness his courage in giving his all until he was spent in the service of Our Dear Lord, whom he loved so completely. He was so filled with God's love and mercy, and now he's with the angels and receiving the Divine Mercy and heaven he so mightily deserves. Word has been revealed of some miraculous healings directly attributed to him .. God Bless him richly.
Pippin ... I hope you can load this and hear this with your dial-up.

Hello back at ya!
I'm usually 'out here' even if I don't post. I've been somewhat under the weather the last couple of days so haven't done much freeping. The brain and fingers are not engaging. :o)
Thanks for the 'hello'. It meant a lot.
Now, on to Mama_Bear's Arizona!
To: Victoria Delsoul
Thanks for being here last night to read our tribute to the Pope, Victoria. Pippin's words were just beautiful.
