George Soros and how power beats money everytime

By Michael Moriarty web posted April 4, 2005

As a graduate of the Ivy League's Dartmouth and a Fulbright Scholar in a Europe that was just waiting to Marx-up the crème de la crème of America's graduating classes, I can well understand why literati, such as Harvard's Norman Mailer -- "revolutionized" in his G.I. Bill of three years at the Sorbonne in Paris -- and other such hungry intellects can be "turned," as they say, into would-be Jean Genets. But a dyed-in-the-wool, honest-to-god billionaire capitalist immigrant from Hungary like George Soros? "What's going on here?" as Frank Salvato asked in a recent Enter Stage Right article.

"Has Mr. Soros lost touch with reality?"

No. He has, like all good gamblers -- and billionaires are nothing if not gamblers -- found the evidence on the table in favor of the United Nations and not at all on the side of the United States. Half a million dead in Rwanda, another quarter million dead in Kosovo and a growing holocaust in the Sudan -- all ostensibly under the watchful eye of UN troops -- is the reality that Salvato would like this Wall Street mogul to be aware of.

Those statistics won't faze the billionaire, though. Soros is not really interested in how many people die from ethnic cleansing and terrorism. As Salvato points out, Soros applauds those nations, like Spain, for their docility before the virtual Gestapo of the New World Order. I'm sure Soros is aware of why the dual leadership of the European Union (Jacques Chirac and Gerhard Schroeder) is welcoming Islam into its domain. He knows that Socialism won't really last unless there is a KGB, Red Guards or al-Qaida to keep the body politic in line. If he's not aware of that, then someone else must have made all that money for him. He did come from formerly Communist Hungary, you know.

The loss of artists to Marx and Engels -- a conscious plot of Stalin, who believed that if the State controls the artists, it controls the hearts and minds of the human race -- is more heartrending to me because some of the "lost" were friends and colleagues of mine. Those middle-European immigrants appear to be the former victims of Communism, but that doesn't necessarily mean they are not Communist. Moscow and Beijing have plotted to infiltrate the highest levels of Wall Street for years. Soros might get a whole chapter in the Post-Modern Revolutionary History of the Human Race. It is power, not money, that assures such an indelible mark. However, it remains to be seen whether Marxists or Judeo-Christians will write the next record of human history.

America is the land of individual freedom and what has delineated our history are the landmarks which individuals, such as Abraham Lincoln, leave. At this point, the only "mark" Soros might leave is of a deeply ungrateful gambler who, in betting on the UN "house," used wealth earned in his adopted country to try and destroy that incredibly generous, vibrant nation -- the United States of America.

Soros figures the house always wins. But this time, he's backing the wrong house.

Michael Moriarty is a Golden Globe and Emmy Award-winning actor who has appeared in the landmark television series Law and Order, the mini-series Taken, the TV-movie The 4400 and Hitler Meets Christ, a surreal tragicomedy based on the actor's controversial New York stage play.

Also a good explanation for why the dual leadership of our own Union (Republicans and Democrats) is welcoming illegal immigrants from the Third World here.

Soros came from Nazi Germany's Hungarian ally in WWII.

Although of Jewish background, it's pretty clear that little George "went over".

"Soros came from Nazi Germany's Hungarian ally in WWII."

Small correction...

Soros went through WWII, but he was released from the Soviet Bloc a few years after WWII to go to the London School of Economics where he received his training. He then became a financier, made a fortune and has been funding Leftist causes ever since.

Odd that a 'refugee' from the Eastern bloc would get such a good education, make a pile and turn on the foundations of the system he has benefitted from, eh?

Soros is a commie - pure and simple.

I really hope Michael Moriarty's career picks up.

He's had his problems, and overcame them.

I've always gotten the impression that he was a republican, but I could never be sure about it.

I know part of his arguements with Wolf (creator of Law and Order) had partially due to political differences in story lines and characters.

Interesting though I'm not sure its quite the same but never the less worth some thought........

's funny. Soros is one of their favorites over on the Nazi sites.

Anyway, Hungary was, in fact, an ally of Nazi Germany in WWII.

He hasn't always been a leftists, just as he has not always been insane (his family has a history of mental illness). Early on in his life, he gave large sums of money to support democracy and fight communism.

Soros is a commie - pure and simple.

He is now. Look and his writings, speeches and opinions from the 80's (when he praised President Reagan) to now.

2 Things stick out.

1) He made sense back then, his political views were weird, but he believed in free markets, liked Reagan, and was lucid, clear, and consise.

2)His writings and opinions now (and not just politics, just any kind of topic in general) are rantings, incoherent, filled with megalomania, contradictory, and unable to hold a tangible thought for to long.

It may not the same in terms of the immediate seriousness of the problem - Mexicans aren't Muslims, after all. But I think generally it's the same process with the same goals. Mexico has crime problems worse than ours. In particular, they have a serious epidemic of kidnappings for ransom, which has led the Mexican government to start a pilot program for implanting RFID chips into people, "for their safety". And as their society becomes more and more entrenched here in the U.S. we're going to start importing their crime troubles as well. Not just the inner-city gangs you hear about now, but serious stuff.

If you wanted impecable credentials in Western circles of power during the cold war as good cover, this would be it. Funding most anti-communist efforts during the 50's and 60's was pissing into the wind. Until the apparatus collapsed from its own weight, no amount of meddling would ever trump the ability of the commies to force their internal agenda from a gun barrel.

Kind of like importing a proletariat into a society that forces multiculturalism on it's citizens. Multiculturalism combined with PC and all the Judicial rulings in favor of "social justice" may indeed have the same effect. I mean the reality is, in many cases, you are forced to be part of the "diversity" program or else.

No way, he is so Conservative it makes some here look like moonbats He always has a nice cynical anti Marxist theme to his writing which I attribute the Hollywood's real Marxist influence. It just amazes me that people just think Hollywood is a bunch of loons, they are not they are much more than that.

Yea, but he also wasn't the crazed pro-drugs, pro-criminal, lunatic we have now who seems to have lost his connection with reality.

Alot of his donations came in the 70's, 80', and after the fall of communism, into the early 90's. He even helped financed the elections for democracy in the Ukraine recently. His firce act of decency in over a decade....and probably his last.

I personally believe, based on having followed Soro's through the years, that he has lost it. The Soros that was happy and greatfull to President Reagan for both his foreign policy and domestic policy (bizare quote though about how Reagan introduced free markets to America, I'm not sure what the hell Soros meant with that, though he was speaking positively), has now turned to hating Bush, for similiar policies and beliefs.

His "Open society" institute, is flaming leftist, but as much as he supports them, he also hampers them with wild speculations, control issues, and lack of attention (if a leftist has a goal, they are not going to like being taken off a case, then put back on, taken back off, and put back on, or be forced to use resources for things that are a waste when it can be better used for other leftist causes).

His complaints about not recieving the noble prize for economics, show how he has become unhinged, Soros has made statements in the past talking about mental illness, I think he has it now, and its made him more dangerious then ever, before he was just corrupt and trash, now, he is corrupt, trash, and nuts.

Read his interivews where he talks about his "messiah complex", and listen to the meglomania, his non political ideas are so far looney, that any left winger should realize, Soro is good as a bank and wallet, but do not use him for anything else.

By the way, listen to him talk about spirituality (he is secular atheist) and religion, and personal beliefs. These are not the comments of a sane man.

You've given me something to chew on and consider - thanks! When sorting out who's a commie and to what degree these days is crazy so I often dispense with discrimination. Of course, the publik skoolz taught me that discrimination is wrong, so now I really am in a quandry.

Odd that ANYONE, like the American actors, newscastors and musicians would make a pile and turn on the foundations of the system they have benefitted from, eh?

Ain't it amazing how the rich sometimes push for the elimination of the system that made them rich, knowing they'll still be rich as their agenda is implimented to eliminate the middle class along with anyone else's chances of becoming rich?

When sorting out who's a commie and to what degree these days is crazy so I often dispense with discrimination.

There's no rule that says you can't be a commie and also be nuts, the only question is which one happens first.

Joseph Stalin early in his life, actually considered the priesthood and joined a seminary, he even became a communist because of altruistic reasons, then he became power hungry and a butcher and one of the worst mass murderers in history (note that he went from considering the priesthood to becoming an atheist and banning religion).

Soros is defiantly a leftist, but I think he has also lost his mind, as has so many in his family, and he has shown a sensitivity for the fear that (and I'm quoting him) "may go mad, has a little bit of madness in him". I think he went nuts, then went lefty.

However, in this country, alot of times, it goes backwards, a quick trip through the daily kos or DU, and you'll see massive amounts of paranoia, conspiracy theory obsessiveness, a disconnect with reality, delusions of grandeur, persecution complex, inability to control emotional responses, inability to reason along with other symptoms. Some of these people think that Karl Rove personally monitors them, and that John Ashcroft had files on them, and was personally listening to there phone calls. I won't even get into the fears of "reeducation camps".

And thats with each other, forget conservatives.
