Though Republicans in some circles are rallying around beleaguered House Majority Leader Tom DeLay, R-Texas, one prominent Republican yesterday dissociated himself from the powerful and controversial lawmaker.
"He is an absolute embarrassment to me and to the Republican Party," U.S. Rep. Christopher Shays, R-Bridgeport, told more than 50 Greenwich residents yesterday morning at Town Hall. He was in Greenwich to host a public forum, open to all political parties, on whatever pressing issues attendees were interested in discussing.

I remember old Shays during the impeachment vote. "I'll go talk with the President [Clintula]." Yeah. I guess he still is.
Screw him.
Shays' spine is like spider silk waving in the wind. And he has no balls.
Shays is an embarrassment to the Republican Party. I hope DeLay stays on and imposes discipline which would include Shays, the quintessential New England bloodless wus, cleaning House toilets for a year. Maybe we could get the Senate to send Lincoln Chaffee over to lend a hand.
Jeez, there's a shocker. Shays gets limelight by betraying his own party... who'd a thought?
That Shays would support slick willie and questions DeLay is beyond infuriating.
This is only a guess, but....WHAT'S SHAYS HIDING?

I'm not surprised by Shays comments. He's to the left of many Texas Democrats!
Yeah, I noticed that too - "prominent" - meaning only that because he's bashing the repubs then he's a good guy.
Shay was very hesitate to support the Iraq invasion.

Shays was also nervous about the Contract With America when it was first being fashioned.
So the State of Bridgeport sends a representative to the House?
I say "kick Bridgeport out of the U.S.". That will take care of the ol' Rep. Christopher Shays.
Why would anyone expect anything different from Christopher Shays?
