Roughly 30,000 gun deaths in the US per year, but who's counting...

The vast majority of which are suicide OR criminal on criminal!!

Your point is????????????

I wonder how many of the annual gun deaths in the USA are gang-related. When the anti-gunners quote statistics re:other countries, they ignore the 'diversity' of America, where we have all ethnicities and religions living side-by-side in most urban areas. I live in Los Angeles and black gang areas are just blocks away from hispanic gang areas. They hate each other and not only target others based on gang affiliation, but ethnicity. For some gangs the ultimate heroic deed is to kill a cop or a white male. This seldom occurs in other countries as most countries have a high majority of one ethnicity and less 'diversity' not to mention gangs (our home grown terrorists). As a white male I've had to run for my life 4 times and each time I was outnumbered, did not have a weapon and was not shot at. 1) lead pipe 2) 2x4's 3 & 4) knives. Criminals don't need guns, but they sure need victums that don't have 'em!

Well, I don't know about Hitler (Sugarmann is Jewish, I believe). I do know that the VPC seems to celebrate mass shootings just so they can try and milk the "see I told you so" attitude for all it is worth. Mass shootings are good for business in Sugarmann's eyes.

Notice he rolled out the "come April when mothers worry about sending their kids to school" line in reference to Columbine? It is as though he needs to remind everyone that Columbine happened 6 years ago this April 20th.

Sugarmann salivates for the day when someone uses a .50 cal in a crime.

I wonder how many of the annual gun deaths in the USA are gang-related.

That's the unpleasant little fact that no one dares mention. When black on black crime is removed from the statistics, America's violent crime rate is roughly the same (if not less) per capita as our northern European cousins.

Pulitzer-Prize winning journalist Neil Sheehan ("A Bright Shining Lie") researched race and crime in America. While Sheehan is hardly an arch conservative, the facts he published were so incendiary and Politically Incorrect that no American news media would touch it. He published his article in an Australian paper, the Sidney Morning Herald in 1995.

Sheehan's main souce for this research? The FBI Uniform Crime Report which can be researched by anyone.

Thanks for the reference to 'the FBI crime report' & Neil Sheehan! I'll definitely check both out. I've reached the end of my rope when it comes to racial PCness - whites are totally fair game for any & all put downs, yet the truth should not be told about minority criminals. Maybe the biggest double standard of all!?!

No Josh, the death toll was courtesy of groups like the VPC. Because there were no armed citizens there to defend themselves.

No, actually there are roughly 15,000 suicides and 15,000 homicides in which a firearms was used.

Big difference in the two statements.

Your statement puts the responsibility of the deaths on an inanimate object. My statement puts the responsibility on the humans that do the deed. Where it belongs.

Nonsense. My statement was just the iteration of a statistic, one with which your statement agrees; that there are 30,000 guns deaths per year in the US. To twist that into saying that I blame the gun is childish and intentionally avoids the point that 30,000 dead by bullet seems, to me, to be a bit more than what we should consider acceptable.

I'm former LEO and a current gun owner. That doesn't stop me from understanding the anger that some Americans feel at these numbers. Understanding that anger doesn't mean automatic agreement with every position held by those who express the anger, except perhaps among those shallow thinking, knee jerk freepers who are determined to go through life exploring no issue from more than one small angle. Is that you? If so have a nice life.

Absolute bullshit. You can't even see that you just did it again. "30,000 dead by bullet" and you don't even see it. Why is it when someone gets stabbed to death, you don't hear about "Knife Deaths"? It is just murder then. Someone commits suicide with pills and it is suicide. But if they do it with a gun, it is a "Gun Death".

You can not be that ignorant not to see that.

When this guy dies, it'll be a great day. He's one of the biggest enemies of freedom out there, as bad as Brady if not worse.

Attention has focused on virtually everything except the actual tools -- reportedly two handguns and a shotgun -- that made the massacre possible.

I guess Josh, assault weapons, Sugarman would rather that these messed up kids just used gasoline instead?

Or maybe he thinks the police should be disarmed since the guns used in the MN incident were stolen from a policeman and then used to kill him.

Of course Wisconsin, were the church service shooting occurred in one of only four states with no civilian concealed carry provisions, and in many states with such provisions, churches and church services are "off limits" for concealed carry.

Both incidents occurred in "unarmed victims zones".

ok - didn't know the guy ....

IIRC, he's the one who more or less came up with the term "assault weapon" to describe militar look alike semi-automatics, and admitted that the term was designed to create confusion, in the minds of the sheeple, with true "assault rifles" (and battle rifles in some cases) which are fully automatic

Haven't heard much from the anti-gun lobby lately. It must be time for them to send out a mailing begging for money. Anybody know what sugarman's salary is?
