President Bush and the First Lady attended the "majestic" funeral for Pope John Paul II today in Rome. The President and the First Lady, as well as, Poppy Bush are heading for the Ranch as I'm typing this. The President spoke to the Press Pool on the way back from Rome.. It is a must read, I will post a link to the interview

I figured she wore them to hide tears. Her face was drawn as if she had been crying.

I love Laura...but those sunglasses were inappropriate. Speaking as someone who was born with an extreme sensitivity to light (it gives me headaches and makes it ultra difficult to see if it is too bright), and as a contacts wearer, which Laura also is, knowing that wearing contacts makes me even more light sensitive, I give her a lot of room on this.

Sunglass are also a must for some when they wear contacts and it is windy/sunny. IIRC Laura wears contacts.

That picture would indicate it but of course I do not know what else was happening at that moment and who else she may have been interacting with.

Fox just reported that the President's plane has just touched down.

If you look under Kofi and Laura's hands, you will see GW has his hands folded in his lap. Of course, it's possible that Kofi snubbed the President and just reached for Laura's hand .. who knows.
But .. I think this should tell most people that Bolton will not go easy on any of those clowns at the UN.

I have been ill, my sister, but I'm Much Better Now, through the Grace of our King. I Pray Things are Going Well with you!
I'm Embarrassed to Admit I've Never Read the Chronicles of Narnia! My Reading has Usually Consisted of Old Works by the Puritans, and other Calvinists. But I'm Open to Seeing the Movie, if it's Good! : )

Soliciting FReeper input! I'm looking for some short, really enjoyable books to read to my mentee. We have less than an hour a week together but I can continue a book from week to week if it's really interesting. I just put Ramona Quimby, Age 8 on hold at the library but that one is 200 pages. Her reading level is about third or fourth grade. Do you have some favorites from childhood, or that your children or grandchildren enjoy today?

I'm glad to hear you're better.
I tried reading the Chronicles in my youth but didn't finish them. My sister was a fanatic about the series. I own the first book in movie form, produced by the BBC. I liked that version.

Junie B. Jones books are short and funny. Very similar to Ramona. Also, my daughter enjoys the Lemony Snicket series and the Treehouse mysteries. The Boxcar children is a good series too but they are a little bit longer.
