STOCKHOLM (Reuters) - A Swedish woman who photographed a swan in the river outside the royal palace in Stockholm made a grim discovery when the film was developed: a hand sticking out of the ice. Newspaper Aftonbladet said on its Web Site that Marita Larsson was walking around Stockholm's Old Town in early March and took a photo of a swan on the river as a spring thaw melted the ice.
"It was only when I came home and developed the film that I saw there was something particular about the picture. When I had it blown up I saw there was a hand sticking out of the ice," she told the newspaper.
A spokesman for Stockholm police said the hand might be that of a man who committed suicide in late January and whose body has not yet been found.
Police last week also fished various body parts of a woman, including the head and hands, out of the river, and are still trying to identify her.

So there's more than one dead person in the river? The royal palace seems like a weird place to dispose of a body.

Another urban legend in the making...
Where is the "photograph"? How many people do you know who go snap photos and then go home and "develop" them?
Zuit! How many people do you know these days who still use silver or dye-based film?

My head has been sticking out of the ice for years... but no one ever takes a pic or is gracious enough to report it to the authorities. Shame on the human race. I'm gonna go back to Mars !!!

A finger at Wendy's.
A foot a couple of weeks ago.
Now, a hand.
Soon, we'll have a whole body -- if all the pieces fit together.

The kind of people that photography swans are the kind that still use celluloid film. Lots of us still use such cameras.
