FreeRepublic Pledges (Vanity)
TheHound
Posted on 04/06/2005 6:50:29 PM PDT by TheHound
Why do these pledge periods have to take so long? For a measly $66,000, I would think the pledge period would only last about a week. If everyone who used this cite for longer, in a year, than they do reading a magazine subsciption, pledged the price of a magazine subscription, I believe the pledge amount would be met in about two days. I certainly hope the day never comes when I have to see "Cialis" ads blinking on the right side of the FR page so they can pay for bandwidth!

Maybe it has something to do with longtime Freepers being called Nazis, pro-death, etc.Not condoning the name calling from both sides of the Terri S. debate but I can think of a helluva lot more important and urgent matters one might get upset over than being called a name on an Internet site.
I can only wonder how those who were 'offended' get along when a real crisis pops up in their lives.

Just a guess."
I think there is something to it. My fear is that a few were also turned off by the George Bush Cheerleading Squad. I do, however, think this is a very valuable forum.

Still is.

True, but shouldn't one be expected to pay if he uses a site that costs money to run? All sites cost money to run.

My point is that the Terri story is just as important for the survival of our Republic as was that day. You're never going to be able to litigate feuding families without upsetting everyone else. Government needs to stay out of the bedroom and out of the living room and out of the back pocket.

And the Terri threads were even drug onto those. Amazing. I just ignored those comments.

'm paying JIM ROBINSON AND THE PEOPLE WHO RUN THIS SITE for the $$ it takes to OPERATE it. Your choice. But I think it's pretty obvious that some folks feel differently, and are voting with their wallets.

How about this....
Dear FReepers,
Please stop fighting, Hillary is watching, and she likes it.
I couldn't live through four years of that!

AND there is the RUB my friend no way do many people think that Schiavo comes even close in revalancy to 9/11 Many are flat out wrong.
We simmered along with now 50 million preborn human babies, murdered. The nationwide spectacle of an air breathing 40 something adult's murder awakened a lot of primal urges for survival of our species.

You can't even avoid it; somebody always brings it up on any other thread, even if it's not appropriate.
