FreeRepublic Pledges (Vanity)

Why do these pledge periods have to take so long? For a measly $66,000, I would think the pledge period would only last about a week. If everyone who used this cite for longer, in a year, than they do reading a magazine subsciption, pledged the price of a magazine subscription, I believe the pledge amount would be met in about two days. I certainly hope the day never comes when I have to see "Cialis" ads blinking on the right side of the FR page so they can pay for bandwidth!

(as a matter of fact, I wouldn't care if he bought roses for Sheila every week with my donations). Actually, I wish he WOULD!

I'll say, Gramma. I've never been to DU, but offer hot showers with anti-bacterial soap, free of charge to those who go, upon their return. I'm a bona fide DU virgin. :-)

Stay that way. I've been there only a few times.
It is I-C-K-Y!
I saw the stars posted there, but had no clue what they were about.

You sounded tense.
So have a beer and cuddle the cute bunny.
It will make you feel better.

"I don't quite understand the defensiveness on display here - I've not accused anyone of anything improper, especially the folks who've seen fit to criticize me for even asking."
You are not seeing defensiveness on display
What you see are some trying to figure out what you are up to
These are the types of posts that I have seen of others who have in the past accuse Jim of some of the most unspeakable things
I won't even get into the things I've been called over at LP

What you see are some trying to figure out what you are up to How about the obvious? I have a question, and I'm trying to get an answer. Accepting that may be harder than just dismissing me as an anti-freeper or whatever, but it also happens to be the truth.
These are the types of posts that I have seen of others who have in the past accuse Jim of some of the most unspeakable things
Well, I haven't accused anyone of anything, let alone accused anyone of "unspeakable things". I just asked a question.
I won't even get into the things I've been called over at LP
Well, I'm sorry if you've been insulted or otherwise mistreated. I would only point out that it wasn't me doing the insulting or mistreating, and I don't think I've done anything to earn the bile and scorn I've gathered here on this thread. Since you obviously know how it feels to be the target of hurtful, hateful things said about you, you might be a bit more reticent about saying such things about others.

My favorite (sort of anti-PETA/pro Nugent) bumper sticker that I've seen was on a VERY muddy, older Jeep Wrangler in Vail, that read:
"I love animals cuz they taste so good."
