FreeRepublic Pledges (Vanity)
TheHound

Why do these pledge periods have to take so long? For a measly $66,000, I would think the pledge period would only last about a week. If everyone who used this cite for longer, in a year, than they do reading a magazine subsciption, pledged the price of a magazine subscription, I believe the pledge amount would be met in about two days. I certainly hope the day never comes when I have to see "Cialis" ads blinking on the right side of the FR page so they can pay for bandwidth!

I show up at every FReepathon to cause trouble. It's gotta be done.
Reminds me of Harry Truman, glock. Someone yelled "Give 'em hell, Harry!"
To which he replied, " I just tell the truth and they it's hell."
Can't stay long -

Me too, Raffus. I had to finally put some plastic covering on my chair due to my occassional, slight, laugh *accidents*. LOL.
And I keep my Hurl Harness close at hand for barf pics and such. ;-)

It's MY decision to help out with thisI agree. Our problem that JimRob is out of town now and won't return until Monday (I think). When he gets back, he will post the budget items again and hopefully some of our "questioners" will save the answer.

"Maybe it has something to do with longtime Freepers being called Nazis, pro-death, etc."
Exactly.
It's pretty sad. Someone posted (I can't remember who) that without a common "enemy", Freepers turned on each other on these Schiavo threads with the same energy and intensity that was formerly reserved for John Kerry and Hillary.
It's a shame...

Yah. I've been a real slacker this FReepathon. The dog ate my cable modem... that's it. Yep.
I'll get better.

At my work, the site was blocked and I was reduced to begging with IT to grant me access. I didn't think they were going to turn it back on. A few days later - bingo - was I happy! Before the election, my cubical coworkers must have thought I lost it! With the silly photos and such.
Life is good!

Jim posted this morning on the Freepathon thread that he will be back tonight.
Believe me, zip, the "questioners" are not interested in answers -- just more questions.
The same "questions" every three months -- year after year after year.

the "questioners" are not interested in answers -- just more questionsThat is why I spout off every quarter about these people. Jim answered every question I ever had and I trust him totally (as a matter of fact, I wouldn't care if he bought roses for Sheila every week with my donations).

It's pretty sad. Someone posted (I can't remember who) that without a common "enemy", Freepers turned on each other on these Schiavo threads with the same energy and intensity that was formerly reserved for John Kerry and Hillary. Well, you'll have some of that. As Harry Truman also once said, "If you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen."
Folks who cannot engage in high intensity matters here, without gettting their knickers in a knot, prolly just need to stay in the numerous canteen threads, (after becoming a Monthly Donor, of course.)

I'm not yet sure, but I can say that I wouldn't mind one bit if Jim took my dollar-a-day donation and spent it on Crown Royal Special Reserve.Ditto. We are going through another phase of Columbus discovering America, panties are in a wad so piss on the site. FR is going to molt---again.
