FreeRepublic Pledges (Vanity)
TheHound

Posted on 04/06/2005 6:50:29 PM PDT by TheHound

Why do these pledge periods have to take so long? For a measly $66,000, I would think the pledge period would only last about a week. If everyone who used this cite for longer, in a year, than they do reading a magazine subsciption, pledged the price of a magazine subscription, I believe the pledge amount would be met in about two days. I certainly hope the day never comes when I have to see "Cialis" ads blinking on the right side of the FR page so they can pay for bandwidth!

..just as important for the survival of our Republic..

Agreed.
And it's less a matter of party affiliation than of an unmitigated sense of entitled egomania running rampant through the ranks of the judiciary.

My point is that the Terri story is just as important for the survival of our Republic as was that day.

I am sorry - I can not and will not compare the 2 events - please do not ask me to do so.

I just think it's time for EVERYONE to come together again.

I can agree with that. The leftists love it when we're divided.

But if by 'come together', you mean contribute to FR...?
Well, it will be quite some time before that happens again.

You can't even avoid it; somebody always brings it up on any other thread, even if it's not appropriate.

Bringing old gripes and arguments into different threads irrelevant to the subject matter of the gripes, is not very good netiquette. It ranks right up there with spamming.

Think long and hard on that, everyone.

You are right - and that is exactly why I am still here.........not as active as in the past, but still here nonetheless - much to the chagrin of many!!!!

C'mon, folks. The number of posters who quit because of the Schiavo threads are totally miniscule, negligible and virtually invisible compared to the tens of thousands of freepers and lurkers who love this forum.

A few passioned opuses don't a mass exodus make.

Someone will always be miffed because of Terri threads, Bush-bashing threads, religion threads, blah blah. When some one comes up with a way to censor all these threads to their liking, please ping me.

I really hope some of these delicate folks aren't using their current vapours as an excuse to not contribute this quarter. But I doubt if any freepers would do such a thing, would they.

You can "expect" anything you like - doesn't mean the people you expect it from feel the same way.

Well, I didn't pledge yet, but I will. But remember, the last one went exceptionally fast, so this is a balance I think.

Schiavo, March for Justice, there's a lot going on right now, maybe they are distractions.

The Terri Shiavo situation was about so many many issues. The right to live, a failure of the judiciary, judges acting like Cesar's, rights of the disabled, lies of the media. We had some judge with the audacity to ignore the President and Congress and not review the same old facts, but to allow new facts. And still...

But what some people did here, was resort to calling people Nazis instead of appealing to them through reason and facts.

Thank you, and I'm relieved to know that there are reasonable people here still.

It's late here, so I'll chat with you tomorrow.

There are games I've played that played in my sleep....I really mean it.

SKip-Bo? I've never heard of it. But I'm now intrigued.
