President Bush selected his father and Bill Clinton over Jimmy Carter for the official delegation attending the funeral of Pope John Paul II, the Carter Center claimed Late Tuesday.

I couldn't have said it better.

great minds think alike.....
I don't have real problem with Slick going.
But if he is able to bring his beast with him, then I have a very serious problem!
That will be especially true if Bab's isn't in attendence!
I'm sure that's the way Jimmuh wants it told.

If I try to push the natural disgust inherent with seeing Clingon with B41 and B43 together so often, I can focus instead on 3 former presidents getting along, each having his own reasons for resenting the other (well B41 and X42 anyway) yet rising above it-- then contrast that with Carter's outright bitterness and past venom. It makes everyone but Carter look just great. And Clingon has never been stupid. Bottom line, it's Bushes being gracious, Clingon being smart, and Carter being well, Carter.
He did push sporty (in his opinion) sweaters to help us overcome the oil shortage. How's THAT for leadership?

The sweaters sure worked for me, I'd think of him in a sweater all the while I was waiting in line for gas.
Doc
I heard it's a limit of one disgraced ex-president per group.
Carter was the most incompetent President since James Buchanan and probably the most mean-spirited person ever to be President.
Carter has his problems, but I don't quite get the "Jimmah" nickname. Yeah, that's how he pronounced his name. But it seems like this nickname makes fun of Southerners more than Carter himself.
"What's with the Clinton buddy thing?"
I've noticed he often invites Clinton along when he wants to invite his father. The criticism from the left is blunted if 43 invites 42 when he wants to include 41. It actually has worked pretty well and every time he does it illustrates perfectly what Clinton's presidency was all about... just the **** between 2 bushes. ;-)
Actually, he left the SBC a few years ago to join the more liberal CBF.
Ms Lillian (or whatever her name is) looks distressed.
I come from a long line of Southerners, and I'm not offended.
This is the greatest gift President GWB can give the Republican candidate in 2008. "
Cheech and Chong would looove whatever you're smokin'.
Bill Clinton waged war against decency, honor, and country, and the Bush's are treating him like a long lost son for their own reasons.
Makes sense.
An Italian, Irishman and Japanese are touring Rome when they learn the Pope is giving audiences to tourists.
All excited, they hurry over and are ushered in. The Pope greets them and asks about the background of each. The Italian is excited, says he has never had an opportunity to see the Holy Father though he has been coming to Rome many times. The Pope invites him to kiss his ring for his faith and perserverence.
Next is the Irishman. He confesses a fondness for booze, but does attend mass once or twice a year. The Pope admonishes him to be true to the faith and invites him to kiss his foot.
The Japanese fellow starts for the door. His companions admonish him to take a once in a lifetime opportunity. No thanks, says he, I'm a Buddhist, never attended mass and have no intention of kissing anything.
