Carter's response: Funeral on Friday? I can't. I'm washing my sweaters that night.

Maybe one benefit is to highlight just how outcast Carter is these days.

^^
I'll try to console myself with that thought when I see that piece of, er, clinton, on television with one of the real presidents.

> why should he care? [Carter] is a southern baptist.

Didn't Jimmuh quit the So. Baptist organization a coupla years ago? Perhaps he's *gasp* unaffiliated.

"Jimmuh is so unimportant he wasn't invited."

A non-person. Terri had more mental capacity.

Carter will naturally accompany Castro. Or Assad.

"That's why Slick was so gracious for Nixon's funeral."

That's quite right, he was gracious to Nixon. [Of course it's difficult to say anything bad about anyone who has just died, but still...]

"But holding the office entails far different considerations for the Bushes than it does for the Clintons..."

I agree with you totally... BUT, I think there is a certain of..... I guess respect, but it just sounds like the wrong word when talking about Clinton. I guess when you're among others who have held the Office that YOU now hold, who have been privilaged to certain information that you have been privialged to, made decisions that only a President can make, and frankly has had the weight of a nation on them as you have, however differently circumstanced.... I don't know, I guess there is a pretty large commonality???

Trust me, I hate the scumbag.... He disgustingly defiled the Oval Office, the same office Ronald Reagan would not enter without wearing at least a sports jacket out of respect for that "Office"...

I do "get it", but there is a certain link between them, simply because they are part of such a small group of men who have been President of the United States, that's all....

Bush did it to get Hilery elected. New World Order. It makes me sick to see Bush kiss up to this scumbag. He let them steel furniture, let everyone in his cabinet get away with everything. I am at my wits end with this guy. I bought into everything made excuses I can't anymore. I just do not get it.

Carter is an abhorrent human being. He makes Clinton look good by comparison. How that treasonous weasle was ever elected President of the US is beyond me.</p>

I completely agree with you. I think there are considerations here that W made, that we'll never know about.

> Bill is used ceremoniously by President GWB throughout his 2nd term. Hillary starts to campaign for prez and Bill and Hillary can't bash the previous 8 years with the same venom that they would like.

Bingo!! And at the same time, W is not seen as vindictive towards the most corrupt administration in history.

If I were in his shoes, I couldn't be so *nice.*

According to AP, the white house Carter turned down the opportunity.

that is the way I heard it. That HE turned it down.

Not earth shaking, no. But the sooner Carter becomes irrelevant in the world's eyes, not just of us Freepers, the better.

Oh, I agree. And I was interested in this little bit of news. I just wish Jimmuh would go away. Another Freeper's post about Jimmuh observing the papal election had me in stitches!
