New York, NY, Apr. 4 (UPI) -- Former President Richard Nixon's son-in-law, Manhattan attorney Ed Cox, is seeking support for a 2006 U.S. Senate race against Democrat Hillary Rodham Clinton.
Cox, who is married to Nixon daughter, Tricia, was "calling around the state last week, telling people he's 'the guy' to challenge" the former first lady, the New York Post said Monday.

Never heard of the guy, but sounds good to me. I'd listen.
Maybe that is Cox's objective, although he probably can't win.
Makes sense. New York already has a Weiner in Congress.

Ed Who ?
Why not? Nobody else wants to.
Cox may run, but he won't run against Her Majesty.
She will not run for the Senate in 2006, and almost immediately thereafter run for the presidency. Her credibility will be shot, and that's exactly the new image she's (falsely) trying to cast: one of centrism and
credibility.
LOL....poor alan....the GOP "designated candidate"
NO!
Cox is quite a better candidate than Keyes ever was. He may not be a household name (yet), but is well known within the major political circles, especially in New York. He has the political pedigree, the experience as a top attorney in Manhattan, and can go toe to toe with Hilary on the issues. Finances will be NO problem for him!
It would be funny if Cox defeats Hillary.
Besides Cox and the members of the Nixon family, I'm probably the only person in the world who thinks he has a shot at beating Hillary.
Add me to that list as well. People are laughing about Cox because he's not well-known. He isn't your typical unknown candidate though. He has the background to back up a candidacy and can raise the money to support it. If he runs, I predict it will be neck and neck in October, 2006.
He probably won't be the most popular candidate on Free Republic because I predict he won't be the most conservative of candidates, but a solid conservative can't win statewide in NY.
Sounds promising, but there are already plenty of Cox in the Senate.
Just what we need, a guy who is unknown outside of being Nixon's son n law. We all know how popular Nixon is in New York.
The most conservative candidate who could possibly win a Senate seat from NY these days is Rudy, and most people in the rest of the world don't think of him as particularly conservative.
Because you never heard of him does not mean no one else has either.
