ROCHESTER Less than a year ago, Episcopal Bishop V. Gene Robinson was the wedge that split the Church of the Redeemer. Yesterday, he presided over its final service, accepting gifts and praising parishioners for their faith and service to the church.
Though it had been open for 100 years, the church had been hampered for years by financial difficulties. The difficulties worsened when the majority of parishioners decided to leave the church rather than accept the leadership of Robinson, who is openly gay.

The church was doomed once it deviated from the teachings of the Lord. Robinson can now start his own church: Church of the Queer Redeemers.
Begone, Reverend Rump Ranger.....and your little gay dog Rex too!!!!
I guess that would mean Christ's bride, the church, is also gay, and that God sactions same-sex marriage. The only sad thing about the church closing is that these people will most likely begin to spread out and infect other congregations with their beliefs.
Ahhh but nothing about "rivers of living water" flowing OUT of him. ("For what goes into a man goes out thru the draught. There fore it is not what goes into a man that corrupts him, but rather what comes out of him" Jesus Christ)
Something warm may be crawling over him but it has a sulphorous aroma...!
I beg to differ.
"Because I have called, and ye refused; I have stretched out my hand, and no man regarded; But ye have set at nought all my counsel, and would none of my reproof: I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your fear cometh; When your fear cometh as desolation, and your destruction cometh as a whirlwind; when distress and anguish cometh upon you."
The chances are good it was a dying church anyway. You see this a lot, a church in an old neighborhood losing membership to a newer church, but surviving because they own their own property and the largely elderly membership keeps donating.
One word....
DUH!!!!!
No, NOrth. Send them NORTH IA..... Seattle!! Perfect.
Some good people have been deprived of their church. I don't think Jesus is laughing about it.
: ) I haven't driven through West Hollywood since the late 80's. The last time I did, and hit a red light. Several poofters walked up to my window and stared in.
Oh dear! Sorry to hear all that.
Probably going to change it into a bathhouse.
She didn't ask about you, though.

Welcome to ECUSA's and Frank Griswold's new definition of the "Fruits of the Spirit."
About 100 people gathered for a final chance to pray and take communion together.
Do the math $400.oo a piece ain't much, but that's not really the point.
"God's light and God's life ooze over me like warm butter."
What about the gods small creatures the gerbils?
It's not vaguely creepy, it's downright freaking weird. I can think of other things that might ooze over him like warm butter, and God's light is not one of them.
Homosexual Agenda Ping.
The Buggering Bishop gets worse and worse. I feel very sorry for whatever remaining Episcopalians who are still sane. But they should shake the dust of their feet, leave, and not look back. Pillars of salt, and all that.
As someone mentioned on the thread, a church is not a building. It is an assembly of those sincerely worshipping God. And an assembly can be just a few. Numbers don't mean a thing. After all, there are more customers for zircon than 5 carat diamonds.
Let DirtyHarryY2K and me know if you want on/off this pinglist.
