Andrew Breitbart long the number two man at the Drudge Report is rumored to be working behind the scenes with Arianna Huffington's new Webzine, the Huffington Report, according to Washington Times "Inside the Beltway" columnist John McCaslin.
The Huffington Report is scheduled to launch sometime this month, and will cater to the radically chic. Its liveliest feature promises to be a group blog where movie stars, New York media mavens, Hollywood film moguls and other wealthy proponents of class struggle and proletarian solidarity can sound off on politics (see "Arianna Huffington Launches Group Blog for Celebrity Leftists"). In the Washington Times of March 31, John McCaslin writes:
"It might have conservative-turned-liberal pundit Arianna Huffington's name attached to it, but we're told that Matt Drudge sidekick and story contributor Andrew Breitbart is the brains behind the soon-to-start blog, Huffington Report. That's what we call a non-denial denial in the news business. If indeed Breitbart is slated to edit the Huntington Report, it seems unlikely that he will stay with Drudge.
`There's a lot of rumors out there that I cannot confirm or deny,' Mr. Breitbart said yesterday."
Since 1999, Breitbart has worked fulltime for the Drudge Report, in a capacity that is probably more accurately described as co-editor than mere "sidekick and story contributor." His departure would certainly be a blow to the Drudge Report.
Breitbart and investigative reporter Mark Ebner co-wrote the Tinseltown exposé Hollywood Interrupted, published last year by John Wiley & Sons.
Is huffingtondummydumdum a Democrap or a Republican this week?
Hell, This witch switches parties as often as she does fat bald companions and tampons!
Talk about DOA.
Crap! I'd become a dues paying member of DU before I'd log onto AH's website. The woman is brain-dead and has no detectable soul.
Hell, This witch switches parties as often as she does fat bald companions and tampons!
She is loyal to only one party, the Green party, as in $$$$.
Drudge ping!
Thanks for the ping! Anybody jumping to Arianna's ship needs to have his head examined...yuck. Wonder what this will mean for Matty Matt?
I don't know what the pay is but it would be a huge mistake to hitch your wagon to Zsa Zsa Huffington. She's Theresa Heinz-Kerry with a different accent.
"There's a lot of rumors out there that I cannot confirm or deny,' Mr. Breitbart said yesterday."
"That's what we call a non-denial denial in the news business..."
Actually, to me it sounds more like a denied non-denial..... but, maybe that's just me??? :)
Drudge is a fool for pulling the FR link. His is the best way to fish for articles for discussion.
she will try and pull the msm to switch from Drudge to her.
She will probably copy his very efficient homepage.
Dudge get's half his material here at FR, shouldn't affect him at all.
longtermmemory, that's what I'm thinking too.
ping for the Sunday night Drudge listeners...
These anti-celebrity-culture books keep coming out. Never heard of Mark Ebner.

I know I've read about her bio before she came on the national scene but I can't recall at the moment what it was. What I do remember is that she was a conservative writer who took stands I agreed with. In fact, remember the Arlington Cemetary scandal during clinton's administration? Arianna Huffington (along with Insight Magazine, which broke the story) was instrumental in uncovering Larry Lawrence's fabricated military record which led to his being disinterred from Arlington.
Anyway, shortly after that episode, I vividly recall seeing Arianna appearing on some program telling how she had attended that Renaissance Weekend the clintons so famously attended every New Year's weekend. Arianna had brought her daughters. She was absolutely rhapsodic over how charming and brilliant clinton was. She's never been the same and gotten progressively (pun intended) worse since that point.
I also recall long ago she popped up on FR to say she had started a new website and linked to it. Nobody seemed to care.
What is Radical Chic, you ask? Radical Chic is one of the funniest most critical peeks into the nosebleed section, that is, the place where Arianna types cavort. The book was written after a dinner party with the Leonard Bernsteins by Tom Wolfe.
"...Felicia is remarkable. She is beautiful, with that rare burnished beauty that lasts through the years. Her hair is pale blond and set just so. She has a voice that is "theatrical," to use a term from her youth. She greets the Black Panthers with the same bend of the wrist, the same tilt of the head, the same perfect Mary Astor voice with which the greets people like Jason, John and D.D., Adolph, Betty, Gian-Carlo, Schuyler, and Goddard, during those aprés-concert suppers she and Lenny are so famous for.
What evenings! She lights the candles over the dining-room table, and in the Gotham gloaming the little tremulous tips of flame are reflected in the mirrored surface of the table, a bottomless blackness with a thousand stars, and it is that moment that Lenny loves. There seem to be a thousand stars above and a thousand stars below, a room full of stars a penthouse duplex full of stars, a Manhattan tower full of stars, with marvelous people drifting through the heavens, Jason Robards, John and D. D. Ryan, Gian-Carlo Menotti, Schuyler Chapin, Goddard Lieberson, Mike Nichols, Lillian Hellman, Larry Rivers, Aaron Copland, Richard Avedon, Milton and Amy Greene, Lukas Foss, Jennie Tourel, Samuel Barber, Jerome Robbins, Steve Sondheim, Adolph and Phyllis Green, Betty Comden, and the Patrick O'Neals . . . "
". . . and now, in the season of Radical Chic, the Black Panthers. That huge Panther there, the one Felicia is smiling her tango smile at, is Robert Bay, who just forty-one hours ago was arrested in an altercation with the police, supposedly over a .38-caliber revolver that someone had, in a parked car in Queens at Northern Boulevard and 10th Street or some such unbelievable place and taken to jail on a most un-usual charge called "criminal facilitation." And now he is out on bail and walking into Leonard and Felicia Bernstein's thirteen-room penthouse duplex on Park Avenue.
Harassment & Hassles, Guns & Pigs, Jail & Bailthey're real, these Black Panthers. The very idea of them, these real revolutionaries, who actually put their lives on the line, runs through Lenny's duplex like a rogue hormone. Everyone casts a glance, or stares, or tries a smile, and then sizes up the house for the somehow delicious counterpoint . . .
Deny it if you want to! But one does end up making such sweet furtive comparisons in this season of Radical Chic . . . There's Otto Preminger in the library and Jean vanden Heuvel in the hall, and Peter and Cheray Duchin in the living room, and Frank and Domna Stanton, Gail Lumet, Sheldon Harnick, Cynthia Phipps, Burton Lane, Mrs. August Heckscher, Roger Wilkins, Barbara Walters, Bob Silvers, Mrs. Richard Avedon, Mrs. Arthur Penn, Julie Belafonte, Harold Taylor, and scores more, including Charlotte Curtis, women's news editor of The New York Times, America's foremost chronicler of Society, a lean woman in black, with her notebook out, standing near Felicia and big Robert Bay, and talking to Cheray Duchin..." None of the freepers who recently left would have any affinity for or desire to associate with the likes of Arianna Huffington.
Gwyneth Paltrow is going to blog at that site?!
LOL
Thank you for the ping, Lainie. Kind of amusing when you think about it.
Why wouldn't they?
LOL! Every single one of 'em share the same affection she has for social conservatives.
hey, when Conservatives won't pay attention to you, and you are a camera whore, just switch political affiliation.
