Drudge Team May Break Up

Andrew Breitbart – long the number two man at the Drudge Report – is rumored to be working behind the scenes with Arianna Huffington's new Webzine, the Huffington Report, according to Washington Times "Inside the Beltway" columnist John McCaslin.

The Huffington Report is scheduled to launch sometime this month, and will cater to the radically chic. Its liveliest feature promises to be a group blog where movie stars, New York media mavens, Hollywood film moguls and other wealthy proponents of class struggle and proletarian solidarity can sound off on politics (see "Arianna Huffington Launches Group Blog for Celebrity Leftists"). In the Washington Times of March 31, John McCaslin writes:

"It might have conservative-turned-liberal pundit Arianna Huffington's name attached to it, but we're told that Matt Drudge sidekick and story contributor Andrew Breitbart is the brains behind the soon-to-start blog, Huffington Report.

`There's a lot of rumors out there that I cannot confirm or deny,' Mr. Breitbart said yesterday."

That's what we call a non-denial denial in the news business. If indeed Breitbart is slated to edit the Huntington Report, it seems unlikely that he will stay with Drudge.

Since 1999, Breitbart has worked fulltime for the Drudge Report, in a capacity that is probably more accurately described as co-editor than mere "sidekick and story contributor." His departure would certainly be a blow to the Drudge Report.

Breitbart and investigative reporter Mark Ebner co-wrote the Tinseltown exposé Hollywood Interrupted, published last year by John Wiley & Sons.

Is that the way they like it? (Not that there's anything wrong with that...)

Pah-leeze! There is no Drudge "team". Drudge is Drudge. The other guy is his trained monkey. Arianna sure can self-promote, though.

HILLARY's friend ARIANNA now goes mainstream Internet while dividing DRUDGE in half..?

Sounds a bit like when ARIANNA began one morning one year ago blasting her California Recall Opponent ARNOLD's Energy Policies on TV...

as later that day America's Northeast is suddenly shutdown by a massive Power Blackout..?

A Power Blackout that fired up just 15 miles from HILLARY's previous night's Booksigning Event in Shaker Heights, Ohio where she also blasted BUSH's Energy Policies in the Media..?

As HILLARY then continued on by blaming BUSH's Energy policies for that massive Power Blackout all afternoon and night in National TV/Radio Interviews from the comfort of her New York Home that wasn't "Dark" because it was being lit up by her own Secret Service portable generator that no one else had...?

ARIANNA = Trouble from HILLARY

No Question.

That is, news tends to break on FR before it breaks on Drudge.

That is exactly why I never go to Drudge anymore. He only parrots what is available in the media and once in a while gets a tip from his buds at the NYTs prior to their edition coming out. He, Lucianne etc pulled out and away from FR so I tend to let them be....

Is it even possible to make a "people lite"?

Ariana is a looney. BUT look to see ariana copy verbatim all the convenience of drudge and then try and bully he friends and leftists to go away from druge.

worth considering. bump.

Divide and conquer. Ariana the wacko can be used by the MSM as endless fodder for the "divided" repulicans. (note how NOT divided they were during the schiavo case)

Ariana is a credible as the stripper who ran for CF governor. Only the stripper has more gravitas.

Trixie -- Nickname of Lucianne Goldberg, once a frequent and well-liked contributor to FreeRepublic. Goldberg came to Conservative fame due to her association and involvement with Linda Tripp. (Time Magazine's early take on Goldberg's rise to conservative prominence.) At some point there were those who thought FR should be only and exclusively Republican. And there were those (including Jim Robinson himself) who thought the forum should stand for and work toward a return to true Constitutional standards of government no matter which party or candidate. A heated philosophical struggle began, resulting in The Great Lucianne Exodus and the establishment of Lucianne.com. Jim Robinson wished them all good luck in their endeavors and to this day still posts banner links to what is variously referred to as L.com. Lucianne.com and I Love Lucy. Trixie, incidentally, is credited with coining the term "FReeper".

Ouch. I never knew all that until you told me.

That explains the second opus efforts.

Well that explains a lot. Be nice to get someone with a sense of dignity on Drudge and less sense of National Inquirer.

That's a somewhat sterilized description of "The Great Lucianne Exodus".
AS I remember it, Trixie threw a hissy fit about the persecution she had to "endure" on this forum, despite the fact that well over 98% of FReepers rabidly supported her. IMHO, she trashmouthed FR simply to create a rift and attract posters to her own website which she launched a couple days later. And if I recall correctly, Drudge also supported that contrived exodus, taking the FR link off his site and putting up a link to "Lucianne".

LOL! I could be wrong, but it sure smells like they're trying to follow the same old scrpt, only this time with Arianna. Bwahahahaha!!!! How pathetic!!!
