TOMBSTONE, Ariz. They came by the hundreds Friday, men and women from across the nation, hearts brimming with righteous anger, determined to staunch the flow of illegal immigration.
Some wore pistols slung low on their hips. Others walked the dusty streets in leather cowboy hats, wearing buttons that read: "Undocumented Border Patrol Agent." There were pilots, window washers, private investigators and exterminators.

Welcome to FreeRepublic, troll.
Remember that some of the apologists are foreigners themselves.
This question is the most avoided by politicians at all levels. They preach, "Growth is good," but to what point? How many people are enough?
Just because much of the rest of the world lives on top of each in crowded cities, why do we have to choose that same fate.
The choice is ours, but by doing nothing we are choosing to end up like all the rest.

LOL!
Ya think?
Thomas Jefferson, Letter to James Madison, from Paris, Jan. 30, 1787
"I hold it that a little rebellion now and then is a good thing, and as necessary in the political world as storms in the physical.
Unsuccessful rebellions, indeed, generally establish the encroachments on the rights of the people which have produced them.
An observation of this truth should render honest republican governors so mild in their punishment of rebellions as not to discourage them too much.
It is a medicine necessary for the sound health of the government."

I read the article at the link provided and although a bit long it was worth the read. I recommend all freepers read this to get a true sense of what is happening down on the southern border.
Below is a portion of the letter we mailed today to the NRCC(National Republican Congressional Committee)in response to their request for us to renew our membership.
We have sent similar letters to the RNC.

To Whom It May Concern:
Please remove us from your mailing list.
It is with regret that we have decided we can no longer financially support the Republican Party and the Administration of President G.W. Bush.
We have reached this decision because President Bush and the Republican Congress refuse to do what is necessary to protect Americas national borders. There are an untold millions of illegal aliens, mostly from Mexico, that have flooded the country. They have no regard for our laws, nor for our culture and Constitution. They have overwhelmed our medical, educational and social services. The cost to the American taxpayer far outweighs any benefit they bring to the country. President Bushs' plan (that in reality amounts to an amnesty) for these lawbreakers is unacceptable. The drug traffic, criminal gangs
and other crime that they are responsible for is abhorrent to us.
Will they pay any attention?? Probably not but it makes us feel good.
More like the "Scarlet Varlet"!
I do not support the National Council of La Raza because of their socialist ideology. I have only defended it against the lies you keep spreading. You have attempted to label them racist. As I have already told you many times La Raza is a cultural term that translates into "the people" and "the nation."
You are naive or willfully ignorant if you do not think the Klan is participating and cheering on the MMK. You can do your own web search for stormfront aryan nations or christian identity and see for yourself.
When the klan is out, the ones who work with them behind the scenes are also out to oppose them vociferously. Those people are the communists. It is like a game drive in a big game hunt. The beaters on each side push the game (new members) into each others arms. The klan and the revolutionary communists such as the RCYB fit together like glove to hand or hammer to anvil.
This is about property rights. The people who live along the border are asserting their property rights to prevent trespassing. They can say who comes on their property or not.

Maybe you would be happier over at "DU"....
They dont have to follow the law. They should shoot to kill and then let the lefties scream when illegals start dropping dead. Then you can have some serious debate over the issue. We let the mexicans determine that people who want to protect our border are extremists and that perception is what most share. Its time that you let the extremists kill and eat the illegals while the common people say we should at least be guarding the border and deporting illegals.
We do need to control our borders. It is a harder task to catch a dozen potential terrorists crossing our border when millions of workers are crossing the same border in the dead of night. I want illegal immigration stopped.
Even if we could magically prevent anyone else from crossing illegally we still have 15 million undocumented illegals in the USA now. I think Dubya's guest worker program will document some of the illegals already here, and will reduce demand for illegals by filling those jobs with legal guest workers.
I believe the US is looked at by too many people of the world today as a place that can be taken advantage of. They are probably right, but I intend to do my part to see that change. Our government should be concerned with the people that are its citizens first.
I agree. Ultimately the best method of preventing illegals coming here and leeching off the welfare system is to eliminate the welfare system, but too many American born leeches are pointing the finger at illegals and saying "these people are limiting my free ride." I see illegal immigration as a distraction in this case.
I believe illegal immigration is a problem for many of the reason you state...crime, security, expense, and the terrible destruction of property in border communities. I don't think it can be solved by protecting the border alone. I believe a major reason why illegal immigration is tolerated is because our current immigration quotas do not meet the needs of business. Unless this factor is included in the equation the solution will elude us. When immigration reflects our labor needs some illegal immigration will stop because there will be no jobs to fill, but I do agree that stronger border patrol and penalties for businesses who continue to hire illegals will be needed to deter future illegal entry.
I appreciate your honest, rational, and thoughtful post. You add credit to your side with it.
I realize you know very little about me and perhaps politics. I support taxcuts, a strong defense, the right to keep and bear arms, an end to abortions, an end to special protections for sodomites. My political heroes are Lincoln, Reagan, and Dubya. Do you really think DU will accept me?
"I believe a major reason why illegal immigration is tolerated is because our current immigration quotas do not meet the needs of business."
I wonder if the quotas do not meet the needs of business or if some of the quotas are being abused by business. For example, the H1-B visa program is supposed to be used to help fill techical and professional positions where there is a lack of skills here in the US. I see too many computer programmers brought here under the H1-B while we have white collar workers (with the same or superior skills) being laid off.
I agree that businesses must be held accountable for hiring undocumented workers. However, we must also consider that if all workers are documented and compensated according to US and state laws, we will pay more for services and goods. Not too mention the drain that may occur when more people take advantage of available government programs.
