TOMBSTONE, Ariz. — They came by the hundreds Friday, men and women from across the nation, hearts brimming with righteous anger, determined to staunch the flow of illegal immigration.

Some wore pistols slung low on their hips. Others walked the dusty streets in leather cowboy hats, wearing buttons that read: "Undocumented Border Patrol Agent." There were pilots, window washers, private investigators and exterminators.

"I don't understand. "

Oh yes you do

""You purposefully misinterpret my arguments""

No, I purposely caught you trying to make illegal immigration and legal immigration indifferentiable. That is the old trick of the hard left.

"If you approve of violence, just say so. I would respect that. Dancing around it however... I can't."

Uh uh. You are conserned with violence now? Where did I mention that word? If the minutemen are fired upon, they should shoot back. My guess is that no shots will be fired on either side.

I feel sorry for you, Noble Cynic. It's your first day here and I don't believe you are trying to be overbearing in your opinions. You seem like a decent and thoughtful fellow. But most of us here are sick to death of the do nothing approach you advocate and support more drastic actions at the border. The Minutemen are making a wonderful political statement and are backing it up with time, money, and dedication. I believe they are the finest patriots.

The heck with a philosophy that criticizes anybody who stands for something as an extremist. These people are the spiritual descendants of American heroes and warriors. We got a whole bunch of pathetic pansy Republicans in Washington who slink along, afraid of the wrath of Vicente Fox and the ACLU, led by Jorge, the Co-President of Mexico, over on Pennsylvania Avenue. I for one am sick of being told we are out of step by these poltically correct cowards and hacks for simply wanting to protect our country and its culture. God bless the Minutemen.

from my oxford dictionary of current English
vigilante n. member of a self appointed group maintaining order.

I think that is who they are. We seem to have assigned a negative connotation to the word.
also
vigil n. keeping awake during the night, etc. esp. to keep watch or pray.
i support the vigilantes keeping the vigil for our country. viva la vigilantes.
debt n. 1. money etc. owed

I have a solution the illegal problem but of course I am sure our government won't go for it.

First we fine every illegal $50,000. Then we contact their government and ask if they wish to pay 50,000 and get their citizen back.

If they don't pay we keep the illegal and make him work off his fine at the rate of 10,000 per year for 5 years. He will be incarcerated and brought out in the daytime to do work. However they can't work for any private businesses. We could use them to break rock, dig holes, the work doesn't have to accomplish anything it just has to be work and hard work. At the end of 5 years we deport the alien with the condition that they can't apply for entry into the US, ever. Children of these illegals would be deported immediately back to their country of origin upon the incarceration of their parents.

Once the word got out that 5 years of back breaking labor awaited anyone caught sneaking over the border illegal crossings would greatly deminish.

Some of the protesting side.

"No human being is illegal"

chants of "Osama is not a Mexican" and "humans don't have borders"

And then there's the lapdog mainstream press.

http://www.sbsun.com/Stories/0,1413,208~12588~2794517,00.html
Opponents of the project said they feared escalating violence.

"The Minutemen bring in the worst kind of people,' said Hector Suarez of Tucson, who organized the protests in Tombstone. "They carry guns, and most of them don't even live in this area. Border communities don't embrace this kind of racism."

And make no mistake about it there were guns.

At the Miracle Valley Bible College, which resembles a decrepit compound, armed volunteers dressed in camouflage stood guard, checking badges and identification for everyone who entered. The college has been abandoned for years, but offered volunteers small rooms for $5 a night. It sits on 80 acres of desert land; most of its buildings are abandoned.

ooo. Scary guns!

I wonder how many MS-13 members benefited from Bush's recent TPS ("Temporary" Protective Status) amnesty for Central Americans.

Are you contending that the Minutemen are Klansmen? If so, on what basis?

All I'm saying is armed groups of people usually equate to people getting shot. I'd be the same if they just had knives. People would get stabbed.

That's total B.S. spread by the likes of Handgun Control for years until most states passed concealed-carry laws that directly resulted in LESS violent crimes being committed. If you want to be a conservative you've got to start by comparing the facts to what the liberals have been selling you. Your heart seems to be in the right place - look further into these issues before laying out presumptions.

I've always felt safest in the company of armed law-abiding citizens. Had one armed person been present in a Luby's Cafeteria in Killeen, Texas one day many untimely funerals could have been prevented. I dare say if antigun standards weren't so pervasive some young man or woman would have gotten a hunting gun out of their vehicle's trunk and significantly reduced the body count at Columbine.

Disarming law abiders just makes them easier prey for criminals and the violently insane.

Oh, please, stop with the Stormfront!

I could probably find some questionable racist hate group that shares your views on the issue too.

Like, say oh, LA RAZA?

So take your weak arguments and spare us all.

Better get your facts straight.

Most States still provide for citizens to make arrests for crimes they observe ocurring. Clearly Bush has no clue regarding what the actual law is...do you?

These people are not vigilantes...even if they do detain someone.

I keep reading your BS posts and am about fed up with your pontification.

Bottom line, any citizen can make an arrest for crimes he/she observes ocurring. The mere act of attempting the arrest DOES NOT abrogate his/her right to defend their person. Nor does arming oneself merely for the purpose of defending one's person.

I enforce the law everyday in one of the top five Socialist State's in this County - Maryland. I can support from Maryland Statutory and Common Law every one of those statements.

These people are not vigilantes, no matter how you want to spin it.
