I worry about the choice for the next Pope. I doubt any of the Cardinals have the old fashioned morals of John Paul and some of them are pretty liberal.
Let's pray they have guidance from 'above' in their choice.

A hug from me too, Sara. John Paul is in Heaven, it is we who hurt now. Carol

Thanks for the ping, Victoria.
That's such a marvelous quote you've posted -- I added it to the top of my profile page.

I think I'll find a quote and post it on my profile page too, hehe.

Wow, that's a great resource. I like this one:
"The truth is not always the same as the majority decision."

Your profile page is already filled with great quotes (LOL) -- but there's always room for one from a great man like Karol Wojtyla.

How about this one:
"Stupidity is also a gift of God, but one mustn't misuse it"

I will replace the first quote on my page.

So the Holy Father has reached the end of his pilgrimage.
All the talk about him quiting can finally cease. He was faithful and devoted to the end. In the final analysis, his suffering witness in the last years and months of his ministry was just as powerful, if not more powerful, than the witness he gave to Christ as a healthy and vigorous middle-aged Pope.
The armchair critics and skeptics were proved wrong, once again. The final, painful steps on his journey were more poignant and powerful than the "quit now" crowd could ever understand or ever will. The words of St. Paul about God's power being shown through human weakness were once more on display.
His Calvary is over. The glory of the resurrection awaits.
Bump to a great thought from a fellow Catholic!

I read that one about a half-dozen times, and I'm not sure I understand it. LOL.
How does one "misuse" stupidity, and what's the difference between "using" it and "misusing" it?

I agree. And I think the Holy Father took that 'loss' very hard, worsening his condition. And he passed on the eve of the Feast of Divine Mercy, a feast he was pleased to institute a decade or so ago, during the Year of the Eucharist, as declared by him last fall. It really does seem providential.

The following pic is NOT disrepectful
No, it's not disrespectful. It shows a Holy man filled with the joy of God. I agree with your sentiment: What a wonderful man!

Stupidity is a gift, but I think what he meant, is someone talking advantage... or pretending to be stupid.

They are still children and can depict their feelings through pictures and a short story if they wish.
