HANOI JANE COMES CLEAN
The former Mrs. Ted Turner, Jane Fonda, has come out with a new book. She is making the rounds doing publicity...and she has given an interview to '60 Minutes' that will air this Sunday. In it, she admits (sort of) that she was wrong to go to North Vietnam and visit an anti-aircraft gun site used to shoot down U.S. pilots. Well isn't that nice....but she's a bit late, don't you think?
Fonda says that her trip to the gun site some 33 years ago was a "betrayal" of the U.S. military, its soldiers and "the country that gave me privilege." She calls the picture of her sitting on the enemy gun barrel the largest lapse of judgment she can imagine. Really. So what about the whole decision to visit North Vietnam in the first place? She won't apologize for that. No, Hanoi Jane will only apologize for posing for pictures with enemy weaponry. She won't apologize for being photographed with American POWs, nor will she apologize for going on Radio Hanoi and being a propaganda mouthpiece for the Viet Cong.
Jane Fonda gave aid and comfort to the enemy of the United States during a time of war. We used to call that treason, and there are people sitting in prison for it. Somehow, Jane Fonda got away with it...and now she wants us all to relieve her of her guilty conscience.

My Nana remembers the way our servicemen were treated when they came home. And those that didn't weren't horored as the heroes they were. It was/is such a sad thing. And the majority of Americans didn't oppose the war. Only the idiots that didn't support this country and our troops and the cowards who ran to Canada!!!!
And then there was that terrible woman, kissey facing the enemy and getting away with it.

Don't get me wrong, nobody dislikes what she did to our fighting men more than me. My dad fough in Nam, and he kept details of his past in the military in the dark with us kids for many years because of a perception of "war guilt" or "shame" for what did over there, in light of treatment given thanks to Hanoi Jane.
However, since leaving Nutty Ted, she has eschewed her atheistic past and become a born again Christian. I don't know if her overall views completely reflect that or if it is a purely spiritual thing, but that's what I understand. While we shouldn't forget the wrong done to our fighting men and women, and how that example poisoned many others in future wars to be against us while being "one of us," we really should not "pray she burns in hell," but rather pray for her soul and for the salvation of this precious conversion.
Hanoi Jane can kiss my calloused Marine Corps butt.

"Poor judgement" ..What?! That is just adding insult to injury. What is so maddening about this totally phony B.tch is that she didn't "get it" then, she still doesn't "get it " now.
