Pinellas Park, FL (LifeNews.com) -- Michael Schiavo plans to keep the location of where he will bury Terri Schiavo's ashes a secret and will prevent Terri's family from knowing. His brother told the media on Thursday that Terri's family would show up and cause a spectacle if they found out.
"If Mike knew they would come in peace, he would have no problem with it," Scott Schiavo, Michael Schiavo's brother, told AP.
A complete autopsy will be performed on Terri's body by the local county medical examiner's office. Once that is completed, Michael plans to have Terri's body cremated and her ashes buried in Pennsylvania.
Scott told the Associated Press the ashes will be buried in a burial plot left to Michael by an aunt and uncle.
"We've already said goodbye," Bobby Schindler said when asked about not knowing where his sister would be buried.
Concerning Michael's latest decision snubbing his family, Bobby said, "He's been doing this kind of stuff for 15 years. What would make him stop now?"
Terri's parents fought for years to stop the cremate, citing Terri's Catholic religious beliefs, and asked Judge George Greer to allow Terri to be buried in Florida, closer to her family. Greer declined both requests.
Terri's parents and her family did not discuss the burial issue during their remarks to the media following Terri's death. However, Paul O'Donnell, a Franciscan monk who has been helping the family during the last two weeks, said they would hold a Catholic mass for Terri even though they will not have her body present.
The mass will take place sometime next week.
A spokesman for the Pinellas County medical examiner's office said Terri's body would be given to Michael on Friday for the cremation process to begin.
The autopsy on Terri's body may yield a preliminary look in two to three days but the office will not have final results for two to three weeks.
Your FReeper name suits you.
One can only hope...
I read somewhere that adultery is against the law in Florida; they just chose not to enforce that law in this instance.
I can see why it hasn't been made an issue. Look at how Felos is trying to portray all who disagree with Terri's killing as "pro-life fanatics." Mention of the adultery law would bring up all sorts of accusations about how the pro-life types are now trying to invade the sanctity of the marital bedroom or dictate what constitutes appropriate marital relations. Or some such. ;)
I doubt the friends and relatives would have any reason to be concerned!
it's understandable
The Schindler's are not surprised. I don't think Michael Schiavo can really hurt them anymore. Hallelujah!! The Schindler's have risen above it all.
Michael Schiavo and his hideous family and friends are monsters from the pit of hell.
The Schindler's are angels.
I think it's funny how the HINO and his family are having hissy fits all over the place. What a bunch of clowns.
The Schindler's are carrying themselves like true Christians full of love and forgiveness.
It's interesting.
He could also give some of her ashes to her parents for burial in FLA.so they'd have a place to go to "visit" Terri.
I've seen the dividing of ashes done in families where the deceased has asked that their ashes be scattered leaving family without a grave to place flowers and remember their loved one.
But Michael has never thought about anybody but himself so this is all wishful thinking. (sigh)
yes
Michael Schiavo reminds me of Scott Peterson. He and his attorney keep trying to characterize him as a sympathetic person for having lost his wife, but his attitude and actions say just the opposite.
Scott Peterson must look at this whole situation and feel like the biggest chump in America.
I read somewhere that adultery is against the law in Florida; they just chose not to enforce that law in this instance.
****
To be fair, a good number of states have laws against adultery...they do not enforce them. Florida is not the only state to not enforce the law, nor is it just not enforcing the law in this particular situation. I mentioned in another thread that if every state enforced their adultery and/or fornication laws, our jails would really be overcrowded.
One ought to be careful with potentially slanderous remarks. There is not one shread of evidence that Michael was abusive, never mind an "anti wife beating sicko."
After that sentence, you lost credibility with me. Sorry.
...and continuing, non-evidential lies about Michael Schiavo...
You don't blame him for making that decision? Her burial place would become a shrine!
My God what a terrible thing to happen. You must be a mad as your 'handle' indicates.
I believe the parents can go to the cemetary's office and they will tell them the location. Michael Schiavo is beyond cruel. That said, I don't think his life is going to be a picnic.
If the cemetery office has a court order barring it from revealing the location, the cemetery will not reveal it.
Possibly. Can the site be kept secret in this day and age?
Does this guy have a booze problem?
That's true, but if it was my daughter I would spend whatever time it took looking for the marker.
Michael Schiavo is a pig.
