I would be tempted to send the letters into the magazine (newspaper? unsure of the periodical) to show how "tolerant" and "loving" these people are.

Granted, the thread in question at DUmmieland doesn't specifically state it's a "form letter", but does our beloved Granny or anyone else really believe the petition wouldn't/couldn't be used as a basis FOR a letter to the editor?
The point is Granny, and all you other DUmb@$$es lurking, reading this thread, that clearly there was an organized effort (which failed of course, and what effort on DU DOESN'T fail *snicker*) on DU to get Rush off the AFR.
Also of humorous note, on the very thread lambasting you, txradioguy, one DUmmie actually provided a link to that petition, when asked for the "form letter" by another DUmmie. Well, maybe all DUmmies aren't dishonest.

TX....Sounds like you've gotten alot of good sound advice on this thread. You & your brothers & sisters in arms defend this great nation with dignity & honor....you do not have to defend your character to those who would debase your service or your CIC. The fact is this...it is those like yourself who have afforded them the ability to voice their opinions freely. They owe you all a debt of gratitude, as do all of us, that can never be repaid.

As a old semi-old soldier who saw this type of cr@p in the 60s and 70s (though we didn't have email), my advice is to ignore them, they seem to hate that more than anything.
If you engage them, they think their position has validity, and only encourages them.
You've stated your case...the folks who read S&S will formulate their own opinions based on that input.
The editors obviously feel your letter had merit; be glad you had a chance to reach many people who probably will be on your side in this.

If all our soldiers hear from you leftists is hatred of the commander in chief and disgust with the mission, they do not take you seriously when you say "We support the troops." Forward *everything* they send to you to Rush, and attach a nice form letter beseeching his help. Tell him that they're harassing you for listening to him. The only reason these pukes do this is because they think they're anonymous and because they think there won't be a backlash. As they say, there is no better antiseptic than a bright light. They harrass you because they think there is no recourse. They'll bloody soil themselves when Rush reads their emails out loud where God and everybody can hear them.
This is a typical statement from those who hate the military. They attack the military, and then hide behind their connections to the military, claiming that as proof that they support the military. A troll recently called me an "ignorant POS" for defending the honor of our troops. She claimed that her insults directed at our troops were her way of supporting the troops, because her husband was about to train some troops (or some such nonsense.) Her freeper name was defined in my dictionary as "a threat or prospect of something unpleasant." That about sums her up.
Two words: Don't bother.
