Jacko finds new use for ‘The Nutcracker’ - (appropriately acidic)

Michael Jackson is one of the pop culture phenomena of the era of celebrity. Modestly talented in one area, he managed to amass a vast amount of money through clever marketing. With it legitimatizing him, he went on to claim an array of talents that he manifestly lacks. He can dance.

That is about it. He is also repulsive and spectacularly stupid. In his interview with the reverend, this lifelong musician made this memorable statement: "I loved the album that Tchaikovsky did — the 'Nutcracker Suite.' It's an album where every song is a great song." I did not actually hear this interview, but I wonder. Did the reverend and the King of Pop then commence to sing a few ditties from the "Nutcracker"? Did they mention any other albums by this guy Tchaikovsky?

The level of intellect now maintained on cable news is, if possible, even lower than the level of intellect maintained throughout the rest of televisionland, with the sane exception of C-SPAN. After the Michael Jackson trial ends, one wonders, what will come next? Perhaps this guy Tchaikovsky will be indicted for some weird transgression. They say out there on his ranch he does some strange things with those nutcrackers.

I DID NOT ACTUALLY HEAR THIS INTERVIEW, BUT?

Not much to say about someone else's "stupidity" after making that statement in an internationally read column!

My nine year old saw a picture (a particularly horrid one) the other day on the net and said who is that? I told her and she said (I KID YOU NOT) "I thought Michael Jackson was black." She could not understand why I was laughing so hard, so I showed her some old photo's of him as a child and a young adult. Pre-mutilation of course.

That night, she came into my room about 2 am (again, I KID YOU NOT) and was crying. She had a nightmare that Michael Jackson's face was in her closet and his nose fell off (we stumbled on a photo of his half fallen off nose in the courtroom) and was TERRIFIED of Michael Jackson and his floating face.

I comforted her and just giggled inside at the lunacy that the King of Pop's face terrified my kid.

Slightly too late... About 112 yrs ago he self-indicted and committed suicide when he was about to be outed as a homosexual.

I've seen that particular photo posted here on FR several times. I didn't retain the links, so I don't really know where to find it again, but it was taken by someone in the courtroom during Michael's last trial. The reporter who had somehow managed to take that photo was very close to Jackson, and she said that his nose was held on with flesh colored tape (bandaid). Sure enough, that's exactly what the photo shows, and his eyes really look as though he is drugged - not at all normal.

Many people say that there is too much talk and too much news coverage of this "freak." Well, that's why. He is a freak. Freaks make news. Add the strongly suspected pedophilia and the celebrity factor, and of course it's going to be widely covered.

Char :)

Left out the best paragraph:
"As for the creep himself, he has finally settled on his defense. He is the victim of prejudice and of a "conspiracy." In other words, he will use the same tactics to defend himself as the Clintons used. Do not be surprised if he begins talking about a "Vast White-Thing Conspiracy."

"Modestly talented in one area, he managed to amass a vast amount of money through clever marketing."

"Thriller arrived in retail stores on December 1st, just in time for Christmas; by the year's end, it had sold more than one million units. January '83 saw the release of the album's second single, "Billie Jean." Within three weeks, the song captured the #1 R&B slot, and in just over a month topped the Pop chart as well. All hell was about to break loose."

"The Making of Michael Jackson's Thriller, released in December, became the largest-selling music home video ever, with more than 900,000 units sold."

"Thriller generated a truckload of honors, including a record seven American Music Awards and eight Grammy Awards in 1984. Michael Jackson and Thriller also earned four Black Gold Awards, four American Video Awards, and three MTV Video Awards; Michael received the People's Choice Award for Favorite All-Around Male Entertainer"

Thriller

"The man now called "the greatest entertainer in the world" had just sung the last note dazzled with the final "moonwalk" of a grueling, 16-month tour that had taken him almost around the world for 123 concerts in 15 countries that drew 4.4 million fans and grossed $ 125 million -- more than any other entertainer has ever grossed on a single tour."

"The concert frenzy boosted sales of Michael's Bad album to more than 20 million (his Thriller album has sold some 40 million world-wide, and is the biggest-selling album in history),"
