My nine year old saw a picture (a particularly horrid one) the other day on the net and said who is that? I told her and she said (I KID YOU NOT) "I thought Michael Jackson was black." She could not understand why I was laughing so hard, so I showed her some old photo's of him as a child and a young adult. Pre-mutilation of course.

That night, she came into my room about 2 am (again, I KID YOU NOT) and was crying. She had a nightmare that Michael Jackson's face was in her closet and his nose fell off (we stumbled on a photo of his half fallen off nose in the courtroom) and was TERRIFIED of Michael Jackson and his floating face.

I comforted her and just giggled inside at the lunacy that the King of Pop's face terrified my kid.

I've seen that particular photo posted here on FR several times. I didn't retain the links, so I don't really know where to find it again, but it was taken by someone in the courtroom during Michael's last trial. The reporter who had somehow managed to take that photo was very close to Jackson, and she said that his nose was held on with flesh colored tape (bandaid). Sure enough, that's exactly what the photo shows, and his eyes really look as though he is drugged - not at all normal.

Many people say that there is too much talk and too much news coverage of this "freak." Well, that's why. He is a freak. Freaks make news. Add the strongly suspected pedophilia and the celebrity factor, and of course it's going to be widely covered.

Char :)
