Ananova:
Teenager tried to cut up missile with an axe
A teenager who found a cloud-seeding missile was almost killed when he tried to cut it up for scrap metal with an axe.
Milan Petrov, 16, from Vinica, Macedonia, found the missile in a forest near his house and brought it home to cut up for scrap metal.
But he was badly injured when it blew up after he hit it several times with a heavy axe.
Doctors said he was lucky to be alive, adding: "It's a miracle that he wasn't blown to bits along with the rocket."
He is now in a stable condition and recovering in hospital.
Weather modification rockets are used to directly influence hail-producing or rain-bearing clouds by dispersing ice-forming chemical agents.

I think the "gremlins" from the old Bugs Bunny cartoons would be more appropriate.

You are way too hard on him. Did the rocket specifically have a "DO NOT STRIKE WITH AXE" warning label on it? If not, then this is an obvious case of corporate negligence.

It looks like either the rocket solid propellant was sensitive to axe concussion, or [if the rocket was a dud with propellant having been burnt out], he might have axed through the explosive charge in its payload. The latter is more likely, for if the focket propellant blew up (there's more of it) his injuries would have been worse.

I know you jest, but i would not be surprised if some crooked lawyer chased down this dude and try to represent him in a lawsuit. And they would use that same argument. It is really ridiculous how the lawyer culture has made common sense obsolete! NOwadays warning labels have to be written for everything.
And depending on where the court is located this dude might even be rewarded for pain and suffering!
It seems as if it is no longer stupid to be stupid these days. Eg pouring hot coffee on one's lap equates to enough money to take a year long vacation in Europe!
