We should be reasoning why the Executive and Legislative branch of the Government is so ineffective. More important is just who appointed the justice department the effective rulers of the Country. Think how much we have lost. Has anyone watch CSPAN and watch our legislatures working? Damn fools, and we have no one to blame but ourselves.

You're so right. The President did everything he could reasonably be expected to do in this case. It is the courts that failed -- failed to examine the case de novo as was instructed, and failed to make the simple order of having the feeding tube reinserted while the issue was discussed.

President Bush did all he could do AT THIS TIME! If a low-level judge has more power to take a life than the president and governor have to save a life, we have no constitutional rights.
The judges are now the supreme branch of government.

If Bush did what some people are suggesting, guess what they will complain about it. I have a new name for these people - Crank Americans .. All they do bitch and moan no matter what the issue is.

Elian was a body blow. This was a dagger to the heart. But we have to pick ourselves up and go on. I don't hurt for Terri. She is in the Arms of God, Servant, Well Done! I burn with a cold anger I haven't felt since 9-11.
Scouts out. Cavalry Ho!

If I stay on this thread I'm going to get myself banned. I'd like to know what all the screeching hoardes would have had the President do? Specifically? Not just screech that he should have done "something", but what?
Shutting up now.

LIFE is the HIGHEST cause and the GREATEST value. The damage that will be done to this country because THE EXECUTIVE BRANCH REFUSED to rescue Terri is going to be far GREATER than any damage that would have been done had they rescued her. The Bush brothers missed an EXCELLENT opportunity to STAND UP to ROGUE Judges (who are the MOST CULPABLE in this scenario) and the DEATH CULTURE.
And this country is going to SUFFER the consequences.

If the President comes out and talks about the excesses of the judiciary, I will be encouraged. If he comes out with a bunch of mealy-mouthed weasel-words and PC sentiments, I will be enraged.

Maybe you should check his oath of office. He swore to uphold the Constitution, which includes the Fifth Amendment prohibiton on killing innocent civilians.
And Jeb swore to uphold that, plus the Florida constitution which includes its echo...Article One, Section Two.
They've proven to be cowards whose pro-life utterances are mere lip service.
I've left the GOP, and won't be going back.
Shaking the dust off my feet and moving on....

LOL - calm down. I understand how you feel! We need to change the courts - simple as that! I think this case will make us take action whereas before we were mostly talk. Maybe some good can come out of this tragedy! God Bless Terri - Rest in Peace - Prayers to her family!

I am ALL to familar with the president's oath of office. The president has a DUTY to PROTECT and UPHOLD the CONSTITUTION for ALL citizens. He failed to do so.

Gonzales has been in Mexico the last 2 days meeting with Presidente Fox. Alberto Gonzales never thought about saving Terri. His thought will be with saving his country men next week from American taxpaying citizens.

There is nothing accurate in that. But there are many who prefer cartoons to reality and believe W to be Mr. Incredible and Jeb to be Jimmy Newtron.

Today we have comitted an atrocity that only Nazi Germany would be proud of.This is how Hitler got started. He propagandized the acceptance of getting rid of "those not worthy of life". He started with the invalid elderly, went to the disabled, then the Jews, then those without blond hair and blue eyes - even though he was brown/black haired with brown eyes!
