President Bush will make remarks on the death of Terri Schindler (Schiavo) at 11:40 am EST.
Agreed. THIS is where we should be directing our outrage.
"Rule of law and the Costitution be dammed."
We don't need more poeple with these views in this country.
They will continue until someone stops them, one way or another.
The trolllllllllllllllls from DU and MOVE ON are not welcome here no matter what name you use!!! or your BS tagline!
Wow, what a profound thing to say. I'll remember that for a long time.
I must agree with your statement.
When I heard that President Bush, and Jeb Bush were going to be making statements about Terri's death, my response was that I really wasn't interested in any useless platitudes from either of them.
In other words, you have no response.
I, and others, have been pointing Governor Bush to his duty for over a month. Dr. Keyes camped on his doorstep for days with this information, but Jeb refused to see him. Jesse Jackson? Sure. Alan Keyes, bearing the brief he claimed to want? No way...
Those are the sad facts.
Try decaf.
They probably never voted Republican, just liberal malcontents stirring up trouble, IMO.
What a piece of work. Admits they had a responsibility to act on her behalf. But they stood by and did nothing.. then he pays respect to the family for taking it??!!! What a hollow man.
Yeah, talk about useless...
You too. No more Starbucks.
Yes, in every immigration thread.
Don't you love how it is a collective "we" that did this. Like being in a hospital and having a nurse say "we" have to get our shot now.
Just useless emotion. They can't think straight so they just spout out whatever broken thoughts pass through their impaired brains.
The ones that get me are those who say we're all Nazis and the U.S. is as evil as Nazi Germany. They obviously have no clue as to what the Nazis really were. Instead, just like the left, they throw out the "You are a Nazi" crap whenever someone doesn't agree with them.
You are exactly right. I don't know about the Florida state constitution, but if it's anything like the U.S. Constitution, the Executive branch has the enforcement power. In Andrew Jackson's day, the courts passed some law (I forget the details) that Jackson didn't want. He said, "great, they've had their say, now let them enforce it." If Florida's constitution is made up the same way, Jeb Bush should have just called the police and said, "stand down". I'm not sure Pres. Bush had the authority (states rights isssues), but I do believe Gov. Bush probably did. It's time people understand that the executive branch is the enforcer of laws, not the judicial branch. If the judiciary didn't like Gov. Bush's non-enforcement of their order, they could appeal to the legislative branch for impeachment, with 2/3's majority needed. Again, assuming the Florida constitution is like the U.S. Constitution. Somebody please tell me if I'm wrong.
he really has completely IGNORED the issue of Terri. One little comment.
As predicted, he had nothing to say. He's had - what - two weeks to prepare a statement on this?
You can all fling around names, but even in political terms, to disappear on such a powerful pro-life issue - an issue very dear to the hearts of the people that put him over the top in this past election - damages our chances in 2006.
Sorry. Why should I expect W to stand his ground on upcoming Supreme Court nominees? He let a tinhorn judge in Florida be the arbiter of life and death on his watch.
I'm a longtime FReeper. Even before my incarnation as "Rutles4Ever". I'm no troll. But this will be in the heart and minds of swing Catholics in future elections.
Good idea! I'll be back later with some Pine-Sol to clean up the floors.
But it's the perfect opportunity to make a pitch for issuing more visas to low-wage hospice workers. Those are jobs that most Americans don't want to do, you know.
