In terms of Jeb's political future, this event will end up being smaller than a small pimple on a large man's arse. Whether or not Jeb decides to aim for higher office, will be besides the point.

Farah has mental problems. Jeb Bush doesn't need grudge holders who are pissed he didn't storm the hospice to win in 2008. Jeb doesn't need to be scared of "evangelicals" staying home to prove a point.

Jeb Bush worked within his envolope. Do you want him to be a dictator. I don't think he likes what is happening to Terri any more than I do. Yes, he could have sent the National Guard in armed to the teeth and he would have gotten many volunteers including me. The people need to wake up and stop listening to CNN, ABC, NBC, and CBS. Terri is not the only one being treated like this. The courts need to be taken into acount for their operating. Terri is sending us a message start copying. God Bless Terri and God Bless America.

Jeb Bush did a lot for Terri, but when it got down to where it counted the most, he wimped out. He should have called the local cops' bluff. What were they going to do -- fire on the state troopers? Instead he gave in. Thanks a lot, Jeb.

If I were Jeb, I wouldn't bother to run for anything. He's a good man, and the lack of loyalty shown by republicans is stunning.

As a matter of fact, there is no reason any good man should run as a republican because we always turn on our own. We deserve what we get.

Know one had a problem with the effort he put forth to get GWB elected in November in the battle ground state of Florida which if lost we would be looking at John Kerry in the White House, now we sh@t on him? He didn't order Terri's death Michael did, get a grip people! Its threads like this that make us look like DU'ers.

You want to pin the lack of action by the judges on Jeb Bush when in fact you should look to Congress or the Florida Legislature.

David Boies made an excellent point on Hannity tonight. What Congress did was 'punt' the case back to the judges. If they had in fact passed a law mandating in cases of family dispute over situations like this, if any parent or spouse has the desire and financial ability to take care of a seriously disbaled/on life support/etc. patient, they must be granted permisioin to take care of that patient.

If that alw had been passed, it's likely the judges would have ordered the tube back in.

A family feud that went national is getting a lot of people smeared - on both sides of the issue.
I read that Terri collapsed from bulemia. Bulemia is often a manifestation of a mother/daughter conflict. And poor Terri has ended up with her mother very much in her face for the last 15 years. This girl really deserves some peace.
And none of this mess is Jeb Bush's fault!

I listened to Jeb Bush on the radio. He came off as spineless. I will assume from now on that he is.

I think that those who advocate lawlessness should do their own dirty work. What I mean is - that those who think that "somebody" ought to do something - whether it is Jeb Bush or the President - and if that "something" is breaking the law - those people should do it themselves.

To me, it is cowardice and disengenuousness to complain about what Jeb did or didn't do - if you are not willing to do it yourself.

I think he will carry regrets about Terri Schiavo to his grave.

I agree, and have already said as much.

I wonder if anyone would care if Terri was starved to death if she had left a will to state that is what she wanted? I would. I think it is immoral and would not do as she wished.

Jeb Bush, Gov of FL.

Most noted for his now infamous words: "My hands are tied."

It is amazing that the MSM holds so much power in America. No politician wants to be excoriated in the press. The tragic part is that Republicans avoid doing the right thing because they are worried what the press will say about them, even though they know the press hates them and will never say anything nice. Bush and Bush are both afraid, first of what the press will say, and second, of being wrong and then what the press would say.

The MSM is like a schoolyard bully, and the Dems are the ones that pay protection money, while Republicans slink in the shadows hoping not to be noticed. I doubt if there will ever be any conservative rennaisance in this country until the MSM is either put out of business, or taken over outright. The only other alternative would be to face the press head on, and take the proverbial bloody nose.

"When local cops informed the state officers that they would enforce the judge's order, the agents of the Florida Department of Law Enforcement stopped."

So Jeb should have done what? Had the state cops shoot the local cops? Yeah that would have been great. Problem with all these "he should have done more" people is they don't think of the consequences, what happens if he doesn't back down from this confrontation? He gets impeached, goes to jail and Terri STILL DIES. His hands are tied people, get over it. If you really want to blaim somebody go after the Schindler's lawyer, he keeps running the same appeal to the same judges over and over again expecting different results, the guy stinks.

Regarding the title:

Oh, Shut Up! Why people want another Bill Clinton on their hands is beyond me. There are TONS of laws, rulings, etc. that we don't agree with the judiciary on, abortion for one, but we/he/they cannot go around strong-arming just to get their/our way. It HAS to be from through channels.

Where were all of you as Jeb was doing his "legal" duty? Bashing Jeb, especially on this site, is inexcusable. I wish that things could have, and they still might, turned out differently. Your anger should be poised toward Michael Schiavo and the courts. Everyone who thought the Congress and state legislature were wrong, because they are government, to get involved in this tragedy, think again. Are not the courts government?

Now everyone take your dissatisfaction with Jeb and go pound sand!
